Nayeon didn't have a bunch of ads all over Korea pre-debut and yet her debut was very successful. JYP sending Twice to some variety shows and letting them promote longer after the comebacks out is probably gonna do a lot more than some pieces of paper on a train station three weeks before the albums out.

That's one of the main reasons their digitals have been suffering in Korea as of late. JYP needs to do more to promote them on variety shows. It really helps. If I remember correctly, Twice just going on Amazing Saterday helped Alchohol-Free's charting. On the contrary, they didn't attend any shows during Scientist era and it was their worst charting comeback. Them not going on variety shows isn't the only reason for their declining digitals, of course, but the lack of exposure to the GP doesn't help.

"It really helps" is an understatement. Korea is still largely a TV nation, they haven't moved to streaming services like some western countries. Varieties don't just help, they make you. Just a single look at those groups Yoo Jae Suk puts out can draw a clear picture of how powerful TV is.
There are groups that literally rose on nothing but varieties, like Btob and Oh My Girl. I remember once watching a Youtube survey about group popularity and people were recognizing Got7 thanks to Jackson cause he was on a lot of shows at the time? And recently Winner is gaining a lot of attention thanks to varieties. You gotta promote on TV in Korea, no other way.

Ok, in my defense, when the revamp happened, I was so unhappy with it and sad so many of the users from other groups left that I was very inactive in the first few months so akorn was in very short supply.
This was always before I had an AKP sub and before there was things like akorn weekend.But here, I bought one now since I'm in a much better akorn situation now
