At around 10:35 p.m. on Thursday night, during a concert by local boy band Mirror at the Coliseum in Hong Kong, a large TV screen fell, injuring at least three dancers. Members Edan Lui Cheuk-on and Anson Lo Hon-ting were performing with dozens of dancers when the screen fell down. Videos shot by the audience show at least two dancers below the big screen. I also looked like the chopping board that fell on a dancer's head and neck. An ambulance arrived 10 minutes after the accident. The injured dancers were rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, one in critical condition and the other in stable condition.

    5. Hul this was way too severe. They should at least make sure that it's safe to stand on stage no? This isn't the first or second time it happened... I hope they recover fastㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

    9. No but how did they even manage the stage that it ended up falling? What will they do about these people...

    10. What will they do about the families of the affected people? And what about all the dancers who were there? And the singers? And what about the mental shock that the fans got?;;;

  • I just saw this video on Twitter and oh my god I hope everyone is ok.

There's another video from q different angle it's way too detailed, Short answer they are seriously not okay. This situation is in the coming days will be taken by a catastrophic personal injury lawyer. Their entire job is to represent people who get hurt or killed in situations like this and others where a situation could have been prevented or mitigated.

Also this serves as a lesson for kpop and for fans stay vigilant you see something say something about it. The agencies should take safety extremely seriously at concerts, the safety officer they are supposed to hire, is supposed to check the facility top to bottom for hazards and address them so that the venue corrects the problem or if they don't correct the problem they get penalized such as the act withdrawing or the agency suing if not both. Agencies should not cut corners hire the safety officer they're entire job is to save lives don't cheap out on such a critical role

  • problem is the neck got hit. This can cause paralysis😢

    touch wood, that won't happen.

He could still just die afterwards. Because of the type of injury. This is called crush syndrome, it occurs when crushed body parts which are destroyed end up releasing dead tissue into the bloodstream which is obviously toxic this shortly afterwards overwhelms the kidneys and liver causing multi organ failure and death very shortly afterwards. So the hospital will have to monitor all those who were injured for possibly weeks after being moved to a recovery ward because crush syndrome can onset later.

  • holy shit!!!

someone better go to jail for this

🤣🤣🤡 In China? Lol in All seriousness yes someone should hang for this. But we are talking about China one of the most corrupt countries on earth, where unfortunately shoddy construction, maintenance and certification are common place there's no shortage of infrastructure and building collapses there. Look up the scandals about construction companies saving money by building something and then removing the rebar supports or using substandard shit like tin cans or plastic bottles, fucking crazy.

The entire construction sector is one giant scam

  • when i watched this video my first thought was from this angle it doesn't look like the screen fell head-on on anyone, thank god, but then i read the comments....

Unfortunately it's a tragedy according to south China post news the updated article states "A medical source told the Post the impact dislocated the third and fourth section of Lee’s cervical vertebrae, leaving him unable to move his limbs. His head and lungs were also injured."

Paralysis is a worse fate than death rip brother

They said the hospital has done spinal surgery and have stabilized his spine but he's still in the ICU and it's unknown if he will recover. Second on the news Post the comment section man fans are ripping the apporiate authorities a new one damming them about the lack of safety support, some stated that a earlier incident a few days prior a member had fallen off the stage and the members themselves had some protest against performing under the screens. You know that gut feeling you have? Never ignore that. And to you idols out there fuck your job your agency and yes your fans if you get that feeling listen to it and run it might save your fucking life.

  • Shit like this is why I want to drum that into the BTS members heads. If something doesn't add up tell hybe to suck a dick and walk out of the concert hall. This should be the same every fandom does for their faves from now on hell even if you don't like a group go do this favor for them. Everyone deserves to avoid a tragedy

technically it was in HK though which has more stringent regulations

  • This is criminal level of incompetent.

Literally sth close to this have happened in kpop before multiple times. Fortunately it was always near miss except Wendy's case.

I hope they freaking hold the venue mangers responsible.
