For an American group you would think they’d get older girls for the American market. They seem to like mature concepts from girl groups

They are not going to debut right away? It seems like an American version of Nizi Project, and they debuted right away.

"revolutionary competition series" sounds like survival program to me.

My own thoughts, my first reaction is to cringe and say, "Another girl group?" Also, the name of the competition sucks and gives me 2010-2011 vibes.

Like, my hopes are not high for this AT ALL, but JYPE partnered with Sony Japan and made NiziU, which so far has been a success. So successful they are doing a BG next. But seriously, we all know JYP's history in America, but hopefully by partnering with Republic Records, this ends up being less cringe than I am expecting.

As much as I love JYPE GGs though, I think this one will probably be one I skip. I feel like this will be JYPE's take on the same concept New Jeans has going, and I'm not really into that. A little too young for my taste, but who knows, I could be totally wrong.

They will need help from Republic, because the usual cutesy thing that JYP does is unlikely to work in America. Perfect fit for Japan though, which is why Nizi Project worked.

I think from audition to debut was about one year for Nizi Project. So the youngest members could be 13.

The youngest contestant, Nina, was 14 during audition.

Major help, but there is also the risk that this ends up looking very try hard depending on the concept and direction they go into.

Like, there is a lot in KPOP that works because it's KPOP, but if I saw western artists doing it, it would make me cringe. Not even just the cutesy stuff. Like even girl crush things, but it doesn't bother me because that's just how KPOP is.

But, it is hard to make company manufactured girl groups have a sense of authenticity. Like, it could very much go in the Disney direction, which is fine since Disney creates stars. Can even see this group guesting on Disney and Nickelodeon in the future, but I've grown out of that. Like, Olivia Rodrigo is great and a phenom, but I can't relate.
