jyp and sm are lucky for not having a company face

  • i think Jyp and sm are lucky for not having a company face . for example hype has bts and the shareholders are mostly only interested in them and might get really ugly for hybe if some members decide to not renew again and the same goes for yg even though they also hav bigbang but their reputation are ruined. sm and jyp don't have 1 group tht represents the whole company and that's pretty lucky.

    what do you say?

  • Doesn’t snsd and twice represent them?

  • I think there's a reason for this because in Jyp and SM they do everything so that their group's fame doesn't get in the ahead of the company. Even if the groups are popular, they somehow balance it out at their next CB. They give the title song in a lower mode and that's how they balance their group's popularity. So it's not a coincidence. Both is definitely more professionals than Hybe as a company.

  • i look at it in a different way. hybe only had BTS for the longest time and thats their flagship group. now they are debuting other groups which are more or less than 1 years old. so hybe is a very young company compared to sm yg jyp etc. those 3 had a long history of idols, which means they have more foundations. they have a bunch of popular groups that you cant really pinpoint one for flagship. snsd, suju, dbsk, bigbang, 2ne1, wg, 2pm. its not all congested to one group. i feel like im missing something..lol

anyways its like rbw had mamamoo as their flagship and then every other idols. rbw is like hybe, a very young label compared to the others. of course popularity wise is entirely different, but you get the point. although fans of rbw dont go around tearing other groups throat out saying they riding on mamamoo success, so i guess they have that for them lol..

i think if hybe last a long time, they will build a foundation like those big3. people think that just because bts pulled in big moneys for hybe, and now hybe can compete with anyone. its not like that, financial, of course you cant denied the success and revenue. but as an investor, youll be looking at historical data, those big3 have a much more solid foundations. if those new groups hybe debuted can last 5-6 years in the future, then they can be onboard with big3 for discussion.

also...there's no shame if youre not big3 big4 or whatever you are, itll be better to focus on the longevity of your groups and the company instead...fans are weird.

  • they do though? specifically jyp with twice. it's not on the scale of bts vs hybe or bp vs the rest of yg but you can't deny whoever thinks of jyp automatically thinks of twice too. they're pretty much THE group of jyp and i don't see anyone replacing them soon as their main artist.

for sm though, i must agree. they're the only company that somehow manages to keep all their groups at the nearly same level of popularity and that's partly because of the strong smtown agenda they keep pushing to feed the company stans

  • Twice is literally the face of jyp what are you talking about

  • But companies have had "faces".

Wondergirls were the hit makers for JYP and helped revive ggs. Twice then became the outright must popular gg and highest earners for JYP.

SM had SNSD who were basically the face of Korea. Then Exo became the most dominant group.

YG had Big Bang of course but 2NE1 weren't that far behind especially how at one point they were setting to hit big in the states.

  • This is a hard no. BTS is the face of HYBE, but BP is not the face of YGE. It's clearly Big Bang with BP being #2.

Globally, the most iconic kpop companies are HYBE & YGE. Is that lucky?
