You can’t compare them to other gg. Other gg sing about love. aespa sing about world view where the lyrics is for me ridiculous and cringy(but i still like it tho), and yet they still survive in charts. SM make the girls released that type of song despite know it a risky but still do it. Let other gg release that type of song and see if they can chart or not. So do not compare aespa success to other gg.

But when their fans constantly shout about them being leaders of the 4th gen(which means they lead in everything - melon/overseas) and their song shows otherwise - out from global spotify in 1 day, rv outdoing them without full tracking, not entering top 10 after almost 2 weeks? Selling 1.6m and especially when half of their sales come from Korea? Placing #3 on bb 200 yet not even bubbling entry after all those promotions there? That's not leaders' results.
Bp in their rookie days were charting on bubbling and k-pop was not popular worldwide the way it is now.
So ofc people will expect gold when their fans themselves place the highest expectations on them, and when they not deliver? Yeah.

Yes it is. Catchy/memorable hook is the successful formula for Kcharts which Girls doesn't have.
