well, since I assume that both of you is an adult, the truly way out of this is by communicating and being honest to each other. I'm just hoping that he could understand and not being a jerk after rejection.

But if he wants to continue being close... Do I call him seperately to talk about it? I sit with a few colleuges if i call him seperately they will question us..if i ask him about it infront of them it can be interpreted in several ways..that'll make it look worse than what it was...do I message him and ask to meet him for 5 minutes or will it seem weirder if I do that to set time aside for this.

People tend to misunderstand what I say often. I'm worried about that too. If I say something that pisses him off I could be out of job. I need to practise my lines before I go to him. My go to is I already like someone else...is it okay in this case?
