  • Okay, so my plan is to watch each fancam and leave an individual review on what I thought of each member's performance. Aside from most of their songs and a few details about them, I do not know much about the group at all to be honest. As such, I will try my best to be unbiased and honest. I will not, however, try and be too harsh or strict/nitpicky on them because I don't think that's a good idea. Also, I know little to nothing about dance, not nearly enough to judge it in any shape or form, and I can't tell when it's live singing or not (even if I could, I'm not good at judging vocals either), so this will pretty much exclusively focus on their energy and stage presence if that makes sense.

Anyway, I just finished watching NingNing's fancam, and here are my thoughts on how she did. From my observation, she mostly had a neutral expression on stage, but given the energy and nature of the song, I just chalked it up to her trying to be fierce, which fits the song, and brushed it off. It's not a big deal to me. A part of me wishes she played into being fierce a bit more, but then I just know some people would call it overexaggerating, so I guess you can't make everyone happy. Plus, trying to sing and dance on stage is already a lot as is. I am happy I did see a few smiles here and there though. I didn't count, so excuse me if this number is wrong, but I saw her make a smile what felt like five or six times, each time lasting for a second or two and it was contagious and made me smile too.

I much preferred watching her in the end. In the beginning, it felt like she was doing the dance and doing fine, but also kind of going through the motions if that makes sense. I don't blame her though. They probably had to practice the song before debut hundreds or thousands of times, then do it in the music video, inevitably in any dance practice, and now on stages as well. Towards the end though, and for the rest of the performance, it's like she got more energy and picked it up a bit. Not sure of an exact time, but roughly around the two minute mark is where I noticed the shift. Then again, maybe I'm just seeing things and nothing actually happened.

Those were my two main observations I noticed. Also, their choreography here had a bunch of hair brushing moments (if that's even a thing) in it, and it was kind of cute. I also like her hair color. It's nice on her, and normally I don't like silvery hair on idols, so props to her for pulling it off. Anyway, I'm getting way off topic, onto the next fancam. Also, if you'd like me to be more specific or give timestamps for things I notice in the future, let me know and I can try doing that if you'd like.

  • hard to say, especially when stylists aren't being fair. NingNing makeup is the most eye-catching, but Giselle's hair does the job too. Winter has both. I think it's hard to judge, but when it comes to the variety and embodiment of the concept, it's always Karina for me. Giselle has the same sensual face, like every time. NingNing is just intense and no variety, totally couldn't handle dct. Winter smiles or winks, but that's about it. I think Karina is the most expressive and doesn't look like she's struggling with the choreography in the more difficult sections, but I don't think she likes girls choreography honestly lmao

  • Okay, Winter was next. For the first ten second or so, all I was thinking was: "Now this is what I was looking for! She's crushing it!", and she was. I liked the energy she had a lot. Had she stayed strong and kept it for most or all of the performance, I would have been speechless and probably given her first place easily. It seemed like after that though, she toned down her energy. I suspect it was to match the group though, so she wouldn't be sticking out for having too much or too little energy, so I don't blame her that much, and it was great for making the group as a whole look more balanced, but when looking at only her and if you're only watching her fancam, it didn't help her out that much.

Also, I noticed less hair dance parts from her. Probably only two. I'm now wondering if instead of it being a dance move, it's something they do for fun or to improve their stage presence? I'm not complaining either way. I'm sorry, I don't really know the dance for the song.

Another thing I observed was her eyes. Now, if she was always staring the camera down, that would be creepy and I'm glad she didn't go that route. It just felt like she was looking all around. What I mean by that is looking to her side, or at the stage floor or things like that. I don't blame her, she does have to be aware of where her groupmates are at so she knows where to be and when. It could also be nervousness or stage fright, if she gets that. I mean, so many people criticize their stage presence so hard, so if she hears about that and it affects any of them in any way, I can sadly see how this could be a vicious cycle. I do wish she looked either at the camera or out towards the audience slightly more, but it's not the end of the world for me. I also noticed this with NingNing a bit too now that I think back on it. Maybe it could also be shyness even. I'm not sure the reason why, and don't want to speculate on it too much, as it's not my place to do so, but still.
