A Group with an AI Member Just Debuted and I'm Confused

    So YouTube randomly recommended a new kpop group to me called "SUPERKIND" today and I was really excited to check them out. I like discovering new groups lol.


    I was watching their debut mv that was released some hours ago and everything and then I realized one member looked weird, almost too perfect and then it hit me, that he was actually AI.


    I was seriously confused because he wasn't treated like an extra member like aespa's AI members or anything. He even has his own debut teaser trailer and everything.


    He was incorporated into their group choreos and seems to blend in with the members like an actual human being.


    First of all who ever animated him did such a good job because, I legit didn't think he was AI initially. He blended in so well with the members. What I'm confused about is that since he's treated like an actual member of the group, how will their performances be like?


    Thier live stages will look odd since a member is obviously missing. Will they have to change up their choreos for performances? Will the fans just have to accept that they will never perform as a full group.


    The whole concept is nice and all but it just feels somewhat off tbh. If he was like aespa's AIs it would make more sense but my guy looks a bit too human and it's so confusing.


    Sorry for my long rant. I saw no post about them so I felt I should make one. What do you think?

    From what crazydoll86 told me, in the MV there's someone with their back to the camera, and they think this is a possible 5th member who controls the AI that is going to later be revealed. IDK though she can tell you her theories. He's not that creepy or anything and the song is good imo but definitely the AI throws me off.

    Okay I'm lowkey following this group somewhat but firstly,


    • We don't know if there will be live stages. I talked with other people on their official discord (yes this group has an official discord) and others said they won't have live stages, so I'll go with that.
    • There is also speculation from fans based on context clues that new members will be added. 4 ai and 1 real person.


    Two, this group is doing something completely different from aespa or really any kpop group. Basically, the lore is that there is Prid (which is the real life idols side) which is in favor of preserving tradition and then there is nuke (Saejin aka the ai idol's side) which is in favor of progress and these two sides are against each other. If you look at the MV, you can see the push and pull between these two sides as well as the promo material. it's very much one side verses the other.

    Anyways, what drives this group is interaction. I mean, the idol and fan interaction with them and their content is always a driving factor, but this is something different. Remember that official discord server I mentioned earlier? Basically, fans can join the server and pick a side (nuke or prid). By interacting in the server and in social media, you can win points and And these interactions allow you to also be able to help build the storyline and future MV's for this group. So the fans kind of take a larger role in the story and content behind this group. They are encouraging the fans to build off this story they have and create something with it.


    So anyways, I don't think of it like an idol group. More like a game that includes kpop in it. It's very unusual yes, but idk it is interesting I suppose. If done well, could be something really interesting.

    Extra info I got from fans:


    The company had trainees 2 years before the mv came out but they were called Yours. The trainees kept leaving the company there was some controversy too, then the project got scraped all Insta got deleted. If I remember correctly there were AI trainees too, out of all of them Saejin “survived”.


    Here is a pic that a fan saved from that time. Who knows if the other two gonna be in the group or not.

    Also the company CEO actually developer of the deep-fake technology. Maybe that’s why he is so realistic.

    Another bit of info twitter fans currently doing a 30 round game with the company where they doing a story chain and the company will select stories out of the tweets and the next me will be made from those fan created tweets. The fans gonna be also credited in the next MV. More then just a K-pop group this is an interactive game where the fans help create the story.

    Also about the group:


    Super kind used to be one group but the human members like traditional way of doing things, while Saejin likes to try new things, they got into an argument and they divided into two section. Nuke and Prid. Prids are the human members(1 more added later), Nuke is Saejin alone (other members will be revealed later).

    the fans also divided into two sections, there is a simple test that fans can complete and get their “kind”.


    i think them keeping one human member secret but revealing an AI instead means the missing member is the real voice of Saejin.

    I’m saying this because the discord has levels. I’m red level which means I’m in the first 4000 fan who joined. The first 1000 called gold users and they can access to Saejin and Daemon chat room and talk with them when they are online. I can’t even see the rooms.

    Yesterday there was twice as much nuke as prid. Lol But that’s expected from a younger fandom when the question is which is better iPhone or grandfather gold watch. Lol


    I don’t remember the exact question but it was all like choose between old things or new things.
