RE: "Why are esp Midzy, Once, JYP stans always shading SM groups like Aespa?"

  • I'll tell you one thing. I don't know how accurate it is to say they're Midzys, Once, and JYP stans, OP. These haters come across as people who don't actually like K-pop, but are in it for some novelty aspect.

I'm much more concerned about the blatant racism and xenophobia these girls are facing just because they don't appeal to the western enough, A.K.A. not being westernized enough.

What's so wrong with trying to succeed in the United States without having a western image? Nothing. I thought the United States was supposed to be a melting pot that tolerates different cultures and perspectives. What's up with all this negative energy ridiculing and bashing SM groups for not being western enough?

    Replying to:

    OP
  • This way, fanwars will never stop since there's some very well known JYP stans, Once and Midzy that are always shading groups like Aespa, SNSD and RV and their fans too.

It's idiotic: it's maybe like 5% or less of each fandom - the most agressive, arrogant and hateful fans of those fandoms - that initiates the bashing and flamewars, but then like 25-50% of the fandoms get involved and start using what those few people did as an excuse to add their own hate and shade posts, keeping the fanwars going on and on and on.

Agreed 100%, OP. Not necessarily with that first part, but the second part! :finger-heart:

  • which is basically

the silent majority often gets drowned out by the vocal minority

so many times do a small (and I want to emphasize small) group of problematic fans tarnish it for the rest of the fandom
