Maybe they don't want to go her way completely either?

Somi could do that because JYP had her back. The dude, not the company.
It would be a lot harder for others. Especially if they are in a well known group.
Unless said group disbands.
Yeah, if someone isn't going to renew in a popular group, they're best off if multiple people don't renew. So many people got mad at Minzy for not renewing and blamed her for the group's disbandment, even though YGE hadn't done shit with the group for two years before she left.
