  • When kpop fans with a straight face say these type of things :angryr: :cryingr:

Celebrities scandals are always talked about that’s why celebrities are celebrities.

Like sure I don’t care about a lot of gossip but I also know celebrities and what they do will always be on the spot light. It’s part of the job description.

Anyway I just find it weird that that’s the response people give when ever any news comes out.

  • I think it kind of depends on the celebrity to some extent. Like Cillian Murphy is notoriously private, so if someone was speculating on his life, then that'd feel more inappropriate.

But someone who posts on instagram every day, and people are talking about their latest excursions... like, that celebrity obviously wants to be discussed. (Which is why it feels fake af when any Kardashian member complains about public attention; like girl, you are posting to get it.)

    let's be friends

  • even if they are celebs doesnt mean they dont deserve privacy and just because its the norm for people to constantly talk about celebs private lives doesnt mean it should stay the norm. If a celeb willing shares some info sure talk about it to your hearts content but leaks for the more part shouldnt.

  • I agree there's no problem to talk about some gossip. But there's a difference between just commenting what is happening and wanting to make decisions for them

    this

or like criticizing for literally doing something normal.

Gossiping means people will draw conclusions and share their opinion. Everyone has something to say about something Kek. I don’t think it needs to be that deep tbh.

Like if you’re gonna take extreme actions like those Chen antis then yeah ofc that’s weird af get a life. But people are gonna speculate about idols based on gossip. Not everything will be savory. It is what it is.

  • This is not black and white. Exposing someone's shitty behaviour or new bussiness adventure or whatever it's different from exposing parts of their private lives that they chose not to. :pepe-shrug:

Dating and relationships is the #1 thing about a celebs life everyone will talk about. This is not something specific to kpop or brand new. Every celeb is probably extremely prepared for it.

  • idk, there are limits to things. speculations over certain things, such as mental health and family relationships just seem like too much. and if it's a young idol then an added layer of creepiness is also present. I don't entirely agree with your OP tbh :pepe-shrug:

Tbh it depends on the type of comment. If the comment uses harmful stereotypes then that’s the problem not the fact that they’re interested in the personal life of idols. It depends on how you word you comment rather than vilifying talking about celebs personal lives.

  • Well it's not our business I believe. A singer is a singer bc she/he sings. They are celebirities but it doesnt mean they have to reveal everything or we have the right to know. They deserve to have their own privacy. And yeah we can talk but the problem is we speculate, judge. Most of the time we dont really know what is actually going on. Just know a bit of it and judge them with that piece of info or even rumor. And this can harm them, even their families, lovers, friends etc

  • true… but some lines do need to be drawn…

however, many times many times, dating rumors have been discussed on here. And it just all seems to come down to bias and whether you’re more sensitive about the topic given it’s your faves involved this time around

I just wish people would stick with what they preach

People’s hypocrisy is not the topic of discussion. It’s just a way to avoid talking about the topic. Which actually I dislike in debates. I wish I had the patience to keep track of what every person on this forum says but actually I can’t. Lol.

If they feel comfortably with it then they'll share it tho, I still feel like especulation over someones private life when they're visibly trying to separate it from their "work life" is creepy. No matter if kpop or anywhere else.

Tbh I disagree a bit. I think celbes know and sell their personal lives as well for profit. All publicity is good publicity for many.

Some are notoriously private and may hate it. But I don’t think it’s a blanket statement that celebs don’t profit of being on the spotlight

I think it’s the most common thing to expect out of being a celebrity. Tbh I haven’t even seen extreme cases of paparazzi invasions for idols.

There are some in western for example where their every single move is captured and posted and I always felt bad.

But in kpop for a couple of pics and people talking about it, kpop fans loose their cool.
