Literally all Idol Companies pay based on Profit, so we can say that JYPE will maximise what their Artists will be paid by reducing expenses

AND....
Japanese Albums all sell at a much higher price than their Korean counterparts.

If source music Made less sales volume why has Hybe buy them?

It's just a natural result of Gfriend leaving.
They only had 21 staff members in 2019 and half were probably involved with Gfriend, the rest being Trainers and general staff.
But what is more clear is that Source Music might not be debuting a Group in the near future although they could still be training Trainees.
The other speculation is that HYBE could be debuting a GG where HYBE can absorb any loss under a COVID environment while Source Music could likely go under.
So thinking of it more.....
I'm thinking that Source Music could be the central source for recruiting and trainee female talent.
JYP Publishing was started in 2008 where JYPark had trained many Producers, they started holding auditions for Song Writers and Producers since 2019
However the first audition was in 2015, a month before TWICE's debut where JYPE launched their first Auditions, the winner being able to join JYPub, they also held one in 2018

What also can't be ignored is the CFs/CMs that NiziU have landed which are already more than TWICE's whole career in Japan.

SF9 renewed their contract this year so FNC is going to push them on every show while CUBE is well known to put their Artists on any show that offers so BTOB don't really have a choice

Itzy was due to Wondergirls, miss A and TWICE, all groups that have won a Melon or MNet Daesang with either their debut song or their 1st comeback song.
Some people don't realize that it took TWICE 13 weeks to reach 10 with their debut song Like Ooh Ahh while Itzy's debut Dalla Dalla ranked 2nd on the Gaon Charts
