I don't care what anybody says. Blackpink's success is 90% about luck and good timing. If they debut the same day as Babymon, they wouldn't be as big, they would be dragged just like ILLIT or LSF, because they are on the same level! You can say they're massive now, but 2NE1 became Legends without mass streaming farms and social media. You can choose ignorance, but SNS was a massive factor in promotions.
Not to mention, it's pretty much all on BTS that Kpop became MASSIVE outside of Asia. That's why I said, they're lucky. They became big after BTS kicked the door in!
Everyone knows that both groups has a loyal fanbase, and their actual job is to stream songs 24/7 on 10 different devices at the same time. 😂 The mass buying Chinese fandom, and the lack of comebacks, and modeling is also a big factor in their success.
Mate, be serious, please. Not their fandom was luck, their popularity! Their fadom got bigger, because they became more mainstream. That's how these things work, people always care more about mainstream things. They didn't do anything to earn the amount of popularity they have. Did they offer more than any other average Kpop group? No. YG was at it's peak when BP debuted, they promoted them as the next 2NE1, hence their instant popularity in Korea.
If BP is really that successful, YG shouldn't have to sell their golf course and 60% of the biggest part of the company, Studio Plex. YG spent BILLIONS to make them popular! That's not hard work.
You what hard work is? What BTS did. They were nugus, and became the biggest boy group. The same goes for Bigbang. They started from nothing, while groups like BP and yes, Babymon as well had everything from start. All they needed is a pretty face and a company with enough money to make them look better than they are.
This isn't hate, just facts. The Babymon girls at least can say, they can sing, dance, and rap unlike their seniors. Without Rose, BP is like a car without an engine.
I know BLINKS never gonna accept the facts, but I don't care. BP don't deserve the success they have. And I don't really care about their success, but what I don't like is when people think BP became big because they worked harder than anyone else, and they're better than anyone else. In this industry, hard work and talent doesn't equal with popularity. Most mainstream artists are bang average, at best! Not just in Kpop, and not just BP!
Please tell me you're joking. 5 BLINKS in the beginning? Why don't you call them nugus? 🤣
BP never had a small fandom. I don't know what some people smoke on this Forum, but give me some too. Of course, they didn't have 500K sales when they debut, because their 1st physical album was released 2 YEARS after their debut, and they sold more thank 500K, btw. No small group would debut with a PAK!
They debuted in 2016, and in 2019 they already performed at Coachella. At that time, no nugu group could even dream about perform there.
I just love when YG stans say their faves wasn't big since day 1 and YG didn't promote them enough, when all you saw in K-media is BP! After 3 years, YG stopped sending them to Variety Shows and Award shows because they became famous in the West. Please, don't try to rewrite history!
