There are too many members in Babymonster that Yg can’t manage. I always see Ahyeon and Chiquita. Other members seem like they are in the shadows. It means that YG doesn’t know how to manage a big member group.
Also music. Music is outdated, hence not the results of BP.
Also the ages of the girls. YG is trying to push that badass girl image which doesn’t suit them at all. I think more elegant and cute style like Ive suits Babymonster more.
Also, YG should let go this image of exclusivity. Let Babymonster do challenges with other idols. It helps to get exposure to a wider kpop audience and other groups’ fanbases.
And finally BM doesn’t seem to me cohesive. It feels like bunch of soloists thrown into a group. Everybody is doing their own thing. As much as they should shine individually, they are a team after all.

I didn’t jump in here to control a narrative. I responded because your tone and the way you constantly position yourself as the only one who knows what’s “real” or “valid” gets old fast. You can twist that into me being some “knight” if you want, but that doesn’t change the fact that people are allowed to call you out when your attitude becomes tiring.

Lady Gaga actually danced a lot and performed live at Coachella, which is impressive. I liked Xg’s performance a lot too. But it wasn’t live unfortunately

What should I do? Praise for the obvious bad vocal performance? Or for the obvious lypsinging? If the thread doesn’t ask about vocals or the other person isn’t talking about talents or vocals I never bring up this topic. And when I actually talk about it, people might get upset. I’m not saying people aren’t allowed to enjoy performances, they totally can do, and I very much enjoyed the XG performance as I stated, but people should know the difference between a live performance and non-live performance.

When did I make a thread about idols don’t sing nowadays, or that they can’t sing? And it is not my personal standard either. I just watched their Coachella performance as I’ve seen people praised for their vocals and live performance skills, and I just made a thread that it isn’t a live performance.
I don’t talk down on people, I just state what I see and hear. Also I’m not hypocritical about it either. I state when my faves lypsinced half of the concert like Aespa did, or how Taemin doesn’t sing live Advice or Guilty most of the time and so on. Also I have never said to treat my opinion like a gospel, you can form your opinion as you do. But people need to know and realize what is live and what is not. If you are not happy about my opinions about vocals, then you can skip that particular reply, nothing bad happens. Or you can discuss the topic without being sensitive with actual arguments.

I just started looking at Coachella 2025 performances, and the perception of XG performance seems to be good. Their fans claim on Reddit, TikTok and YouTube that it was live. I watched 4 or 5 songs and they were all lypsinced. Maybe they said some few words but I only heard studio vocals and raps all the time. And the thing is their fans are gaslighting people that it was a live performance, when clearly it isn’t. The performance itself was very enjoyable and good, but claiming it was live is a whole different level of gaslighting and delusion.
They didn’t even sing a single line, their mouths aren’t matching, they are picking up the mics not on time with the studio vocals, and their fans still gaslighting others that it was live.
Anyways, did you guys on AKP think that XG performed live?

And NewJeans achieved massive success in the West while staying true to their core concepts and musical identity as well.
I guess the conundrum would be the fact that both BP and NJ naturally appeal to Western audiences, while aespa's natural strengths and concepts as a group may not.
Would Taemin-Identity and SooYoung consider that a fair statement and assessment?
Their music is not for everyone and that’s a fact. I watch a lot of reaction videos and I can see through people’s faces when they don’t like Aespa’s Music. But Aespa’s music became more palatable recently. If Aespa released Savage or Next Level tomorrow they wouldn’t breakthrough the Western market, since these songs are extremely polarizing.
I just think that SM needs to push Aespa in the west. Not one time that they did in 2022, but consistently and making right choises. Aespa still didn’t get on TTH, Aespa still needs normal US distributor, and good exposure on American festivals. The last time they were in US festival was when, in 2023? Aespa really got big after drama era internationally. And the last promo was in era of Spicy.
