By the way, one important thing to note about this cult accusation is that it seems to be against BSH, not the artists. So don't think it's a lynching for BTS for the cult issue but it is more like putting Hybe/BSH on the chopping block. After all, who is the one who manages contracts and approves endorsement? Hybe/BSH.

There was something I found on reddit:
Edit ---
This online university started trying to hide their obvious ties to the cult starting in 2019 per the posting.
Edit 2 ----
Some netizen's claim that this may go deeper into more than entertainment may not be that delusional after all
I'll keep an eye on this subject but only peripherally. Any time it goes into cult, money, and power it's never a good combination.

That online university is owned by Dahn World as claimed by articles I saw and look at who the founder of that online university is. Old references:

For the…nypost.comMake up your own mind but here are other stories like these and one near where I live. Shocked me to my toes that there was a woman in my area who got involved with this. Not just these but you can find other things relatively easily.

I think the honeymoon between Koreans and BTS is essentially over. They liked BTS because they raised Korea's soft power around the world. Then covid came, and while BTS wasn't able to tour like before, they still made a ton of money for HYBE at a time when many Koreans became poorer, faced inflation and had more debts. So where is the benefit in revering BTS as a cultural force when the vast majority of Koreans aren't benefiting from it? This reality hit them and now with this situation, it won't make them hate BTS but they will see them as just as any other group that exists just for profit.
I don't think that's necessarily true. Generally (not including fan girls/boys) people seem to see that it was Hybe at fault. But if it drags out longer and Hybe continues to try to use their fans to deflect and not answer some of the legitimate questions such as Knet's questions about the cult's use of BTS's name and image and other issues, not sure where it would go from there.
Edit ---
And about your comment starting from covid, like what?!?

Every ex-employee hates his boss. Not a revelation that neither MHJ or BSH are saints.
These are dirty people in a dirty industry. You have to be not quite "unique" to want to profit from, not sugarcoating it here, exploiting children. Both the customers and trainees. What are the kind of people who get into that line of work.
That every employee complains about their boss, yes. But not that it makes it into the news. I suspect Hybe media play for this reason.

responding through botting and public warfare opinion that includes bringing hate on GGs, cult allegations and resurgence of old issues?
hybe had a tip about her plans, you think they did this out of nowhere when everything that has happened in a week has only validated their concerns? the vp said she was not aware of those 1945 documents but when kakao talks came out she said they were not being serious about it, so which is it? and the shaman is just a friend? hybe is quiet right now because they probably sitting on a mountain of evidence to sue her to hell. they had to pre-empt her strategy. she was going to whistleblow about the illit plagiarism and sue to terminate newjeans contracts most likely.
You realize when they were talking about whistleblowing it was referring to internal Hybe reporting? As for suing to terminate NJs contract (most likely (lmao on your disclaimer)) all completely legit even if the likelihood of that was low. You can always sue if there is cause.
If you give credence to things like song lyrics then you should also believe that Hybe is involved with Dahn and actively promoting it. Lmao the K netizens have more support material for that line of thought than what you have here to a frightening degree that some of it even made me question whether there was any truth to it.
You should be more worried that Hybe is blowing through it's credibility at an incredibly fast rate with the general public. So much so that even normal K public are starting to pay a lot of attention to the accusations like cult and other matters like supposed links between Hybe to politics (via Dahn). Seriously, if those kind of things take off MHJ will be least of Hybe's worries. Hybe's response, especially to the cult link has been puzzling to say the least. Like netizens asked why he allowed Dhan to use BTS's name since 2018 (?) or so and why there seems to be so many references to Dahn ideology and what not. I'll leave it there since I'm not a big fan cults and they weird me out.

But that’s not the point of my reply. The whole point is that yes, she can feel unfairly treated but by her behavior she is just endangering the other employees that are not getting millions and have to live paycheck by paycheck. Mhj and the other executives are in an easy position - let’s drop the criminal accusations to the side - to easily get another job but there are other employees who might get more repercussions and will ultimately loose their job due to the bad handling of this scandal. Usually - or due to my experience- going to court is the last of the last of the last options in the corporate world. Usually big business try to do mediation talks or involve the legal department for sassy e-mails and meetings and that’s it. Management beef is like water is wet but this will ultimately hurt the low salary employees more than multi million dollar executives that could live in Gangnam and could retire at any given time. Sorry, in that context I have bo pity for them
Who actually started this whole mess? Hybe. MHJ took proper action and followed company procedures by filing complaints and trying to work it through the system and via contracts negotiations. Who media played hard and released all those hearsays and mix of half truths first? Hybe. And this here is why I am skeptical of what is being released under the guise of so and so said.
Is she guilty of thoughts of going independent and complaining about the boss and the system? Yes, but so are many other people at all levels of society/business/organization.
Also, I have heard and seen how hard it is for women in general to climb up the corporate ladder and how difficult it is to actually try to win over the good old boy networks.
Hybe for various reason I'll pass on mentioning is clicking all the warning signs off on my check list.
Korean men don't seem to like women having authority over them and women doing better than them. So do I believe MHJ could have responded with an attitude to get the workers to do what is needed or overrule them on decisions to achieve her vision for a group potentially pissing off people? Yes, I do. Like for real just looking at it from everything that I've seen working and experiences of my female friends who got thrown under the bus by their bosses, I can potentially see so many reasons why these types of media play are being played out. Corporate politics at its finest and worst.
-
From what I see, people are being too emotional and being focused on BTS exclusively and "protecting" them. Sorry but while I can understand their feelings this issue really is larger than MHJ/ BTS and Hybe. If this gets taken to court and it gets ruled in Hybe's favor, not only MHJ but other idols as well as workers in non-entertainment fields will get affected too. I as a corporation can now start making it a mandatory condition for hiring anyone in my company. Imagine the sh*t that can happen.
-
Thats the thing, it shouldn't be, but unless someone go to court there isn't a case to show that it isn't and countries often take ages to update laws, especially one like this that could impact loads of industries with deep pockets to keep appealing law drafts. Its why marital r*pe was still technically legal in the UK until 1992!
Its wild but its low key very important for workers in Korea in general that this gets big attention and is made illegal. Some work areas are so hyper competitive enough to justify a non-compete and there are countless companies with employee share schemes who can add this or may already have this kind of clause. Cases like this need individuals with enough money to burn to fight it out through all appeals. Thats why its kinda sad LSM didn't go to court when Hybe did the same to him.
And the reason why some legal expert spoke up and said she had a case and that it needs to be carefully looked at and considered. There is more than one way to enslave a person and unfair agreements like this is not just about Hybe and MHJ but about all the working people who are being forced to sign these unfair clauses. Agreements like these type of noncompete clause could rob a person of their livelihood. Like you said, this is much deeper than just kpop.
-
Noticed some people seem to have no idea whats normal in non-competes and are acting like the fact that its the norm in some industries means this one is fine. Make no mistake, the Hybe one is by all accounts beyond insane.
Alot of countries have it banned, and if they are legal, governments tend to limit them to between 6 months and 2 years, though for the latter the company needs to give the employee enough room to esentially keep working. Either by limiting the scope to a particular city or business scope.
Because it reduces the ability of people to leave companies the UK government is trying to limit it to 3 months total whilst the federal government is trying to ban it in the USA, meanwhile Hybe is out here trying to be able to control retirement.
For the slow ones in the back the problem isn't the fact that it exists is that there is no set end and the end should at max be 2 years after she leaves Hybe.
100% agree. I work and I see contracts and, in my country, there is no way this is enforceable. If you are going to force her to actually tie her career to Hybe it is not too much to ask for 30x the amount that she demanded. She has past performance to prove that she can make groups successful and bring in those moolas. Remember the negotiating term asked based off operating profit of Ador, meaning Ador/NJs is successful and likely to be more successful if this whole Hybe/MHJ mess was not made public.
Right now, I would say all the incentive to create this mess seems to be on Hybe's side.
-
lmao that is the blind item that someone else brought up about anonymous SM and Hybe employee statements. I find it really shady as f. I mean to push this type of media play that can later be found to be false to front like this so that they can say oooppps sorry for the mistake; we did say anonymous.
Why don't they come straight out and say it since MHJ is a lot less powerful than Hybe.
These types of shady media play makes me more certain that things are probably going in MHJ's favor.
I do not see why they are still attacking her personally like this. Makes the attacker look weak
edit --
I know they do not want to sued for defamation or libel so they hide behind anonymous which allows them to be shady and while making it harder for MHJ to sue. These types of tactics make me disgusted as hell.

Take it for what's it's worth but here's a snipet from chosun ilbo and that is a major news outlet (English Version).
Religious cult links to HYBE spark online speculationReligious cult links to HYBE spark online speculationwww.chosun.com"Some BTS fans in Korea had raised suspicions about HYBE’s connection to Dahnworld years ago, citing various factors such as all but one BTS member being graduates of a university founded by Dahnworld, one member using cosmetics sold by a company associated with Dahnworld, references to “danjeon breathing” in BTS’s debut song, and BTS’s debut stage taking place at an art hall associated with Dahnworld. However, at the time, these allegations did not gain widespread attention and faded away."
e, these allegations did not gain widespread attention and faded away.

As of yesterday when I was looking at the K sites, there was literally no bashing of BTS itself. However, this situation seems to be changing rapidly. Who knows? Go check out the K sites yourself and make your own judgement since things are moving too quickly. I may do that later this evening but not now. Real life calls
It seems like it's Hybe itself who is doing itself more harm. Really surprising how badly Hybe is bumbling this.
Edit ----
My meeting got postponed so I had some extra time on hand to look. People are not against the artists themselves (yet):

I spoke too soon. It's looking like people are starting to go there now with the way Hybe is handling it.
-
Well this is all interesting and all but things move too slowly here in AKP forum. Now there are some netz who claim that Illit's hand gestures and certain moves are very similiar/almost identical to Dahn World cult's. Even if Hybe sues, I don't think it's going to go away.
Plus from what I'm noticing on twits and on forums, they are not going after BTS but BSH/Hybe. They are bashing BSH for wasting the the blood and sweat of BTS that built up the reputation of the company as well as fund it.
So relax Army folks. Unless you are out to protect Hybe the company, you can set your mind to rest. Also, basically all the idols being used for what people perceive as cult messages, for now, seem to be seen as victims.
Also, it looks like the hate for LSM is not new from what I'm reading. It was always there and they had their antis and this I guess opened the door for them.
edit: If Hybe sues anyone, they should sue those cult people, especially that online uni. They are using BTS's name to advertise themselves. I need to go back and look at it again but there is even course advertisement that directly uses BTS name in it. (addition: This one I think was from twitter)

Well in this instance the netizens are not wrong. At least for what I saw about the sajegi one, I saw what the X/twitter account posted. It was summary of the court judgment and also pics of the judgment, unless there are others that I'm not been paying attention to. It would be hard to sue for that one if at all. I bet they will likely not be able to do much for that one and will go after other things and claim victory when they win one law suit that may cover a blatantly false statement. I can't with this whole mess but it's so interesting that I'm getting hooked in. lmao spending too much time in between doing real life stuff and checking akp forum. Maybe I need to exit kpop again.

IU was one of my favorite soloist when I was into kpop way back. Glad to see she is still holding on.
I'll drop this good news here:

Hi there. Just stopping by to see how Infinite is doing. Been a while since I stopped tracking kpop but since I'm back I decided to stop by one of my old favorites. Looks like they have their individual activities. Good luck to them and thank you for posting about their activities. Will stop by once in a while to check.

I'm pretty sure she was talking about the current situation
Hee Jin emotionally declared, "The members' mothers are so worried that I'm going to kill myself. But why would I? I'm going to say everything that I have in my heart. Do you know what Park Ji-won said to the mothers? He said that he's not going to talk to them, just to ADOR. And they say that they care about NewJeans? I don't care whether they sue me for libel"
Omg... I can't keep up with this Hybe/MHJ situation from cult to everything. And yes, you are right but in her defense at the time of she said that could have been true. After it was said by Hybe, they could have reversed their decision after they saw the public backlash.
