Lol Koreans really do live in their own little world
Not even the Beatles or Michael Jackson had a year like she just did in both sales and cultural impact

This is eerily similar to that Miley track 'Angels Like You' that also started smashing in South East Asia. It never caught on anywhere else so Miley and her label didn't lift a finger
If this enters US Apple Music, I see Abel pushing it on pop radio. You couldn't ask for better timing either since he currently doesn't have 1 song in the top 40

I don’t know what happened with yt but nowadays streams are higher than views.
Better alternatives popped up. Both local and internationally. Western artists went through the same thing. After all the illegal download sites got taken down, people flocked to YT. But once Spotify and Apple Music came out, YT got dropped
Only a matter of time before Latin Artists start seeing a massive decline in their views. Right now YT music videos is the only way to listen to music without having to pay

If Rockstar didn't allow Gamespot and other channels to upload the trailer they would've crushed this record
GTA is arguably the biggest franchise on the planet at this point

SM is just clueless. Bad Boy enters US Spotify years before HYBE started their massive push in the West with BTS and they never capitalize on it
Ignoring Thirsty and not pushing it overseas when it's similar to the type of music their competitors are smashing with (NJ, LSF) was another missed opportunity

YTM is bigger than Melon so yes, Aespa currently has the biggest hit in SK

Not kpop news, but some spotify economics news.
101 Million / 27.2 Billion = .0037 cents per stream.
https://www.billboard.com/busi…ow-much-worth-1235524477/
So I need to stream my faves 270 times to make them 1 dollar.
If the song is 3 minutes long, I need to listen to 810 minutes or 13.5 hours of spotify so my faves can make 1 dollar.
Depends on where you live and if you have a premium account
If you're Colombia and are streaming from a free account, then your streams are basically worthless
Mind you that even though Americans have more disposable income than the rest of the world only 50% of them (out of 100m users) are paying for Spotify. Now imagine Asia or Latin America

BTS may be on hiatus but their catalog is massive. And considering catalog music makes up 70% of music consumption, yea not happening. It'll probably take 2/3 comebacks in a single year to balance it out
They'll for sure beat BP though. They're basically neck and neck despite blinks mass looping HYLT and BP having 100 more songs according to kworb

If cbars have this much power why aren't labels pandering to them 24/7 and making sure their favorites are given preferential treatment to make sure they keep bulk buying?

Does TikTok count as digitals? I mean it isn't not digital...

It's impact on the music industry has been unprecedented
Not even Billboard. And they used to allow Youtube fan videos to impact the Hot 100 up until 2/3 years ago
