Woooow, i didn't know about it! I think I might have this too bc sometimes i listen to the same song again and again and again for days.
it’s definitely something to think about! I’m always replaying the same song or rewatching the same shows

aww my fellow desi, you are too pretty!
I am 26, the only 4th gen groups I am interested in are Cherry Bullet and now recently New Jeans.
I like being the supportive older sister fan, it’s fun. I mainly stan for the music & I don’t see an issue with it.
Although I don’t think I could ever stan a younger Boygroup. But then again, other than BTS I’ve never cared for boy groups
Because as a grown adult I find it weird to be all "omg I'm gonna stan this 14 year old child and watch fancams and cute videos of them barking like a dog"
lmao where did the barking like a dog train of thought come from?
cus not targeted toward their demographic
fair point! I will say that New Jeans is presented with a lot of nostalgia for us millennials/early gen z’s with all the 2000s and y2k influences. And even the r&b pop songs themselves, it feels like a part of my memory from my childhood lol.
So I think this group is attracting fans from different demographics.
neuroWHAT? Im sorry, i didnt watch the movie with Shanelle Woodley, i dont know what is this about. Anyway, if works for you, is fine i guess.
lol okay
Bangtannies
it’s called being neurodivergent (in my case) and if I like a song I’ll replay it a lot. Oddly enough, I don’t get sick of it lol
By repeatedly listening to 1 hour loops on YT lol
We need them on Spotify already
I'm not against stanning them
I'm against debuting them
Kids needs to be on school not on stage
well yeah, I put my thoughts about that in the OP too, but regardless of your stance of it, it will not change sadly. So what good does boycotting the group do?
Her hair is gorgeous! Omg!
Having good stage presence does not equate success, yes.
But it is like a reward for fans of a group, a lot of us consume kpop mainly through performances, be that music shows, award shows, concert footage etc. When a group has good stage presence, they are immensely more enjoyable to watch.
For instance, I’ve been watching a lot of the POP stages from Nayeon and she’s so charismatic on stage, it’s incredibly enjoyable.
Also from a concert goer perspective, stage presence is incredibly important to hype up the crowd and can be the difference between a great show and a bad show.
Finally, Blackpink are great performers overall, the criticism you are referring to was mainly targeted only at Jennie for a while.
Jennie was dealing with a health condition and found it difficult at a certain time to perform in very high heels. However that has changed very quickly, they took on board the criticism and helped her to improve.
Also Jennie started off as one of the best performers in BP and then later on had that controversy, and Blackpink have been on fire with performances as of late. So I don’t think using them is a good example.
I’m referring to New Jeans specifically here. There are so many posts of people outright refusing to even check them out, or be in anyway associated with them purely based on their ages.
While I totally agree that debuting young makes you lose some of your childhood, ultimately it’s not our decision to make.
Maybe people stan groups for different reasons, I’m aware. Or view idols in a exclusively sexual or romanticized way, or as an outlet.
So I understand the concern from that point of view, i.e ‘creepy uncle fans’ however I don’t think it serves anyone by lumping all their fans together into that category.
For my personal experience, I started off only stanning idols older than me too purely because I was a fan of f(x) and 2ne1 during that time. But as I’ve fallen for many third gen groups, the concept of stanning younger idols didn’t seem like an issue for me at all.
As I view it more as supporting and cheering them on, as like an older sister or aunty fan lol.
I don’t see anything weird about it. Yes they are younger, but I am not viewing them in any weird way. I just enjoy the music and think they are very cute! They make me happy and give me good energy.
So can someone enlighten me on why people are so against supporting younger idols?
The problem with hanni is she does look very different depending on the different hairstyles and makeup so it gets even more confusing besides the similar hairstyle with the other girls lol. If i could ss i would to demonstrate what i mean but basically i’ve caught instances of her looking like sulli or loona’s hyunjin or kara’s hara or even weeekly’s jihan so I can’t blame people for having trouble recognising her lol
I agree! I see hara and sulli in her too and she look so different with bangs lol! Our hanni is a transformer
