I feel like fans would be outraged if something like this was made today, which is a shame.
This is the first time I've ever heard of the term "supergroup", interesting to see!
If I can reply to this - yeah, in 2nd gen collabs between girls groups and boy groups were more common and more accepted. Some people even shipped them together SNSD and 2PM also were in this variety show where they were paired up and acted as couples. Fun times
And yes, GOT the Beat was the gg super group fromSM. It was supposed to be rotationary but I guess they scratched that.
And no worries! Sorry for overwhelming you with the recommendations.
Wow very cool, had no idea this existed. The SM equivalent of an all-star starting lineup.
Oh my gosh, if you've never heard about GOT the Beat, do check out their mini album apart from the two title tracks! The bsides are fantastic and vocals an raps are really great (but having all of those idols together, how can it be anything else).

Yes, it's very different from their other videos, but I think it's just the aesthetics they chose.
Minimalistic, mostly b&w and just more focus on the fashion and styling.
It does feel empty when you compare, but I don't think there's any use in comparing, cause clearly the directors were going for a different thing.
Would it be great if they had another great MV like Armageddon? Yes, but this MV fits Whiplash and hopefully in the future they will have another concept and song as detailed and powerful as Armageddon/Supernova.

And if any of you like these but haven't listened to her album, give it a try! The bsides are amazing and Jihyo participated a lot in the album creation, so it's really her:

I was really surprised Toxic was the first title track to get promoted in the comeback because those types of songs are usually considered as B-sides and rarely see the light of day.
I liked it in showcasing their vocal sides, though.
Body was more of my vibe and I honestly wished it was the debut song than Meow.
I did not like Meow just because of the "Yaow" or "Meow" chants.
But, I cannot wait to hear what new music they'll release next.
Hopefully, their future music won't turn you away.

I know what you mean, it really has that bside vibe.
And I'm hopeful. Out of those three songs, I think only Meow had those type of lyrics I'm not a big fan of. So hopefully their future songs will have a lot of different messages, so there will be something for everybody.
I'm not their fan but I got to know some of their songs through the SSJYP game and I like them. I'll definitely tune in to listen to their comeback music.
It doesn't sound good, why would they put her name on the posters if she says she's not going to perform there?
You would think that such a big company will take care of their artists, especially as popular as Taeyeon. But we could already see the way they treated SNSD for their 10th anniversary, so I guess it's same old... Also the way her latest comeback is being promoted and how it was supposed to be a full album but got delayed and shortened to the mini.
I do understand though why she would want to stay there, despite being so dissatisfied. SM probably owns the right to her whole discography and by now she might have more freedom and power when it comes to music choice and performing (like she doesn't have to attend the shows etc.), maybe also good salary division. If she ever decided to join another label, it might be easy since she's so popular but imagine not being able to perform her old music?

It sounds lovely! Yujin released an OST recently and nowLiz too, I'm happy for them. It's just the beginning! 😊
2nd gen, which is when I got into kpop. The variety back then was so fun and the groups often did collabs together, without worrying about scandals. Maybe some things were worse than now, but there was a lot of great things too.
I also sometimes wish I could go back in time to 2015, when I first learned about Twice but didn't become their fan because of fan wars between Once and Sone. I feel like I missed so much because of that. I have a different mindset now but back then the big fan wars really discouraged me.
Did you listen to their currently released music-- Toxic and Body?
If so, what are your opinions on those?
I just gave them a listen. Toxic is a very chill song but a bit forgettable for me, not exactly my style of music. I like Body more, but it's so short. But I like the vibe, the sound is really fun. And I like their voices again, especially in the 2nd verse (I checked on youtube and I think it's Gawon, who has my favourite tone whom I also noticed in Meow - so pretty).
Out of all three, I still like Meow the most, I think. It's very catchy and unique.
I'm interested enough that I will check their next songs :) I have to be honest though, I'm not a huge fan of the "I'm the best" vibe in kpop songs (it's also why I stopped stanning Blackpink, I no longer enjoyed their songs). So I'll see how it goes with Meovv.
I just saw the news and it is a bit surprising, considering everything. I know they've been complaining and have been mistreated for a long time, so I guess they were just able to negotiate better contracts this time and decided to stay after all. Soyeon complaining so loudly and being so vocal about her possibly leaving might have given her even more leverage, who knows.
I can only think that maybe Cube really gave them some big benefits to keep them, so that it overweighed the bad things. That, and what the other users said - it could possibly be hard to move to another company (probably impossible to do it and be able to still perform all of their songs).
Eleven is still one of the best debut songs and IVE title tracks!! I discovered them only after the release of Love Dive, but I stanned right away after I listened to Eleven and saw the performance! It's that powerful
