Koreans get English names to assimilate (or because they are biblical names because in case you didn’t know korea is majority Christian state) stop comparing things that can’t be compared.
If a non East Asian POC did what this idol did the hate would have been 10x more. Stop making up stories for some sob party against white people. The problem is she is an appropriating problematic kboo. Pipe down your bigotry is showing.
You obviously don't even understand what I'm saying and I won't pipe down because what I'm saying is literally facts. I witnessed it on this forum. Before people started digging stuff up about Lana, they already didn't like her. She was a white girl trying to be a K-pop idol, are you serious? I'm not saying she was faultless but they were never going to give her a chance to begin with. So bigotry? Nah. Go somewhere else w that shit. I support anyone, of any race, that chases after their dreams.
She is a white, Russian idol who got hate for getting PS to "look more Korean" and uses a Korean name "Yoo Eunbi"
So basically, she had a kreaboo scandal
Let's not pretend that this is what people were actually bitching about. It was that she's white. Blame it on her getting plastic surgery to look Korean or using a Korean name (which btw, a lot of Koreans have English names also so that's a non issue), but I remember how much hate she got and it was ALL about her being white and being able to debut while other races weren't.
compare how many men beat up women vs how many women beat up men irl
First of all, when it comes to physical abuse, a lot of men don't come forward because of feelings of shame. It's not that it's happening less, it's that it's reported significantly less. Even if it did happen less, that doesn't mean that double standards are okay. OP has a point.
For me, Blackpink and now somewhat Ateez. I'm a music fan and Blackpink just doesn't release enough music for me to consider it worthwhile to fully stan them still. As for Ateez, for some reason they aren't holding my attention anymore. I still like their music and I like the members but I'm STILL BORED for some reason? I'm not sure what it is. I'm honestly going through a weird phase right now
Like I know WY are popular but some of them are acting as if they were the Beyoncé of izone like cmon.
It’s getting weird everytime ive achieve something antis feel the need to discrediting them
I love IVE so this isn't about that but truthfully, even if someone didn't stan or listen to Iz*One, they're almost guaranteed to know of Wonyoung. She was basically the face of the group. When I think Iz*One I think Wonyoung. I didn't know any of the names of the other members, and I'm sure that's the case for many other people.
Lots of interesting opinions but as an Everglow fan since Adios, i can tell you that Ladida really hurt their popularity. I lost a bit of interest in them, the song wasnt terrible, but it was a big disappointment after the AWESOMENESS that was Dun Dun and Adios. First tried to recapture the girl crush aesthetic but failed, Pirate is their best song since Dun Dun but it might be too late.
Girl crush gotta girl crush, if you're gonna swerve to 80s retro, you gotta bring an A tier song like So Bad, Star, or Mago.
As an aside, same thing happened with Twice. They went from a great song in More and More to another underwhelming retro 80s style song, ICSM, which flopped. Both ICSM and Ladida arent terrible songs but they were both big disappointments because of high expectations, especially for me personally since i love 80s retro music.
Everglow i feel is vulnerable right now. I've been worried about them for a year and the rise of this next wave of 4th gen groups could really hurt them. I think only Aespa, Stayc, Itzy, and maybe Loona are safe, all of these other more marginal groups like Everglow, Rocket Punch, Cherry Bullet, etc are gonna be fighting for their lives as Ivy, Kessler, JYPNGG, and HYBENGG start debuting and growing their fandoms and popularity.

I mean in the end, it's just subjective. A lot of people think that Ladida is an A tier song. I love So Bad as well but if I had to choose between them, it will always be Ladida. It's hard to say definitively what went wrong, but I don't think it's that Ladida isn't A tier. I think it just wasn't what was expected after Dun Dun.

No, no, for example I said that Yesung looks way younger than 37, but not that 37 is old or bad. Just that he looks younger than he is!
No worries, I just meant people who comment as if it's shocking that idols still look young when they're in their late 20s/early 30s. They still look so young because they ARE young. That's all

Idkabout u, but I wouldn't want to subject MY child to an abusive industry at like 13... do u genuinely think people want to see underaged kpop idols try to be sexy on stage??? NO!!! go open that textbook!!!
The thing is that it's not YOUR child. Do you guys think these young idols are debuting without permission from their parents or an adult figure in their life? I'm sorry but no. It's not our place to say who should or shouldn't debut and when.
Idc if it's trolling, it's not ageist to not want too young people to debut. It's not about their talent, it's about protecting them from predating eyes and an abusive industry.
I agree to an extent (and of course there are exceptions) but they have parents for this reason. They don't need fans to tell them what they can and cannot do. If their parents support their dreams and encourage them to be an idol, despite being underage, then who are we to be against it? We aren't here to protect idols. That's the responsibility of the adults in their lives.
EDIT: I want to add that I definitely don't support sexualizing underage idols, rather I'm saying it's not up to us to dictate when they can or should debut.
I don't know if you're interested in non-idol music but I listen to a lot of Korean non-idol songs that are really good (at least I think so) and I'll share some that I'm playing often lately! I'll also share cignature's new song because it's so good and deserves more love.

It's interesting to see that so many people have older songs on their list. There isn't a single song on my replay list from a year other than 2021 there were so many bops this year.
