Itzy has already shined as the fourth gen girl group, and both groups are doing a great job, and people shouldn't care that much about who's the best group. Don't drag any groups, pretty much.
Note: I thought lots more people in this thread would care lots about who's the best 4th gen gg, but everyone's saying "No one cares."

Firstly, we should ask ourselves: why do teenage girls/women always tend to be the punching bags of men in power and the mainstream media? And this is not a current joke btw, this predates the Beatlemania and it's not an exclusive issue that belongs to Kpop.
Secondly, I believe it is stereotyping women because it implies only teenage GIRLS would enjoy their music when the reality is completely the opposite. Hell, even on this forum we can find people from all ages/sex enjoying their music and other bgs music. Actually, implying a fandom consists of teenage girls also means we are not here for the music, but their looks, because they're handsome men and again undermining women's preferences. Come on, how many time haven't you heard people like bgs music bc of their looks? I know it can go the other way around as for ggs music, but it's not my focus here.
And even if the stereotype is on boybands, again why do we women have always to be the punching bags? We could say the joke ends up stereotyping both fandom and women as it implies women should know better. But I've heard countless times things as: "only teenage girls would listen to this type of music" "their fandom is made out of teenage girls", this kind of sentence has a double meaning bc it can be read as: teenage girls don't know any better about music and older women shouldn't be listening to this type of music.
Of course I know boybands have a target audience, but as a woman, I'm simply tired of having my preferences looked down on by people and the media and I find it completely offensive. If you don't, that's alright, but please DO NOT diminish other women's complaints because we know what these so-called jokes might actually be referring to.
YOU SPOKE LITERAL FACTS WITH AN F! EXACTLY what I thought when I found this thread. LOTS of us know how deeply rooted in sexism that joke is. This goes to those youtubers (commentary - my favourite genre), I know they ain't gonna see, but those people and ANYONE ELSE better not utter that joke, no matter if you know what it really means or not. Either that, or we start saying "13 year old boys" too. When the genders are switched, it's not that common. I know not everyone uses it in a sexist way, but they should honestly be aware.
People already hate the GUTS out of James Corden, I don't really understand why, is it a legitimate reason, or are they just following the hivemind? I've heard a bunch of reasons. I don't know if he knows how many and how much people hate him, and he's really just making it worse for himself.

Like- it's not a company's fault if they can't make money, but if they can't have proper living accommodations for trainees and idols, try to scrape some money and don't even START trying to gather trainees yet.
so apparently, Dani got kicked out of the group for disagreeing with the company and the company tried to cover it up by acting as if she wanted to go solo and they deleted any videos that said that Oli London isn't working with Kaachi. and they handled the group terribly (which is very true btw), basically set up the girls for hate, forced them to only practice for a few days, almost as if they intentionally did this to gain attention. please correct me if I'm wrong!

ehh... srry but all kpop groups lip-sync bc it's so hard to sing and dance at the same time, and even my ult group rarely has any REAL live performances because idols are expected to sound perfect. If you hear literally NO breathing and you have a hunch that it sounds almost exactly like the track, 80% chance they're lip-syncing. A lot of times, they lip-sync at the chorus but sing live (probably autotune). At least you learned though!
(I didn't watch the clip though.. also why the f did you say that about Lia, I ain't an ITZY stan, but I saw people complain about her dance skills, you make me so fucking mad please change the title before people start going apeshit over it)

Literally- I've never seen Blackpink on a Korean variety show before, they've only been on Knowing Bros and probably Running Man and Weekly Idol but that's it. And BARELY ANY MUSIC SHOW PERFORMANCES? WTF?!? YGE is basically going for the exclusive group, that group you barely ever see but they're really popular. Blackpink is honestly just straight up exclusive, their schedules are practically EMPTY. They barely have fansigns. At least they're not being overworked though.
