lol i think it's a bit too much. Red velvetdon't need US promotions just because other kpop groups and sm groups are doing it. Red velvet is doing well enough and they are busy with solo activities. it's not like non kpop fans will become a fan of Red velvet after watching one of their korean songs on TV. These western promotions will target the western kpop fans that's all.
Not really. i do appreciate their talent but ultimately i won't like a song more because my fav idol produced it. i love Gidle songs but not because Soyeon made them but because i think their songs are all good.
i tend to like idols who are good singers or good performers or have engaging personality.
She has been with SM since 2007 that is 14 years; 7 years as trainee and 7 years as idol. Lead vocalist and main dancer of Red velvet. Yet she didn't get a solo until now. Red velvet 7th anniversary has passed but we haven't heard any plans for Seulgi's solo debut.
She got a subunit with irene but i want to see Seulgi as solo artist. There is only her one solo song in subunit album "uncover". it has a choreo MV but she never promoted it anywhere.
Anyways what sort of songs or concepts do youexpectfrom Seulgi's solo?

i think the reason people are bringing up her being an older divorcee is that she must have already experience with birth control and avoiding pregnancy. it's also easier to think a young woman will fall for false marriage promises but her being older; she is experienced in relationships and should have had own independence on whether to keep or abort the child.
Yeah. All the plaid outfits this year esp for cute ggs. Cute ggs have so many options for styling from concept specific or simple matching outfits or more street wear.
Yeah. i liked Yeji's hairstyle with accessories a lot in crazy in love. Their styling was all good for Crazy in love. Swipe has great potential to be a viral song with that choreo. Yuna's fast rap in twenty shocked everyone. i didn't like Mafia or the styling in it but it has some great bsides.. sorry not sorry; kidding me; shoot.
Maybe this list is spread by Mnet itself. So the fans of 1-9 members will get complacent. And fans of 9-18 will spend extra time to vote for their faves in 9-18 list.
Hard to believe they Mnet will not take Japanese and Chinese members in the group when they will definitely bring a lot of album sales and concert revenue. GP999 from what everyone have said is not doing that good in korea so there is no reason to have 8/9 korean members when you can have 5-6 who are the most popular for korean fanbase.

Even though Namjoon is my favourite; Jimin was the first member to catch my attention when i watched bts mvs and content casually. He has a unique visual which stands out and memorable. His voice is also surprising for new listeners because he has very high and airy vocals.
i believe when they are making some profit or break even at least. Even if they don't have good digitals; more than 50k album sales is when i would assume they can cover the comeback cost and generate some profit.
But there are some groups that are mostly famous in korea like b1a4; ab6ix; onf; onlyoneof; lovelyz; oh my girl; oneus. For groups like these that are mostly popular in korea; even 20-30k sales is enough because they can earn well from concerts in korea. For groups like ateez and a.c.e that have big international fandom and small korean fandom; they need more album sales around 50k plus because they can't sell as much in concerts because of small korean fanbase.
Although with online concerts and fansigns; i think it has become easier for groups with more int fans. They can have online concerts for int fans otherwise touring in foreign countries can be expensive.
Then there are groups with small album sales but there is a popular member who gets cf/ acting roles like LovelyzMijoo or Doyeon from Weki Meki and until recently Naeun from April.
Western preference when it comes to non-Western songs is something unusual/ quirky and funny. Like Gangnam style. Or a Norazzo song. That pom pom pom Japanese song is also somewhat viral globally for it's unusal mv. So Super Junior in my opinion have the best chance of a hit song that non-kpop fans will like too. Sorry Sorry and Mr. Simple are already extremely famous even though mostly in Asia. SJ should make another song like that and promote in the West.

i will also add Momoland. Their song bboom bboom was viral among non-kpop fans. And they have an English speaker too. Momoland should get the producer that made bboom bboom for another such song.
Mnet should just make them into a 12 member girl group. That way they can have 8 korean members and 2/2 Japanese and Chinese members. That way most favored contestants will get in and everyone will be happy. i don't think they can be accused of rigging or anything illegal if they decide to have more members in the final group than intended.
