I don't think that's the reason. The order for most Kpop concerts is senior idols or more popular idols sing last or close to last. SNSD going earlier would make sense because they're rookies. TVXQ would have been near the end or right at the end.

It was a long time ago, but I'm pretty sure those "fans" were angry, because SNSD performed before their TVXQ, I think, and they didn't want to wait and listen to a girl group. It was madness! The video is still up on YT, you can see them crying on stage.

Nah it was 100% because of fans of TVXQ and Suju being jealous SNSD were close to their faves including starring in CFs and TV shows together which led to rumors of them dating. The hate was already huge online with mutiple sites being anti SNSD and this carried onto real life.
The best part is in 2013 SNSD did dream concert and got the entire stadium full of fans of other groups holding up their light sticks singing along to their songs word for word. It was so loud the broadcast version used their normal cd songs instead of live audio of the event.

Kpop companies always have been the worst. Slave contracts, crazy diets, lack of sleep, sexual abuse, debt/scams. You name it they've done it.

To be fair, everyone who left sm in peaceful way performed their songs, no problem, no issues(cbx are exception to that rule, I never saw someone suing sm and still promoting as strongly as they did). I doubt sm can block her catalogue but I absolutely do think that they would fight dirty to keep her.
I agree with you that die to management change her position in sm also changed, my guess is that she stayed for so long in sm was because she has already been with them for so long, had whole vault of songs and best producers in one place, sm is well oiled machine (especially compared to start up and small agencies) and agency doesn't depend on her so she can work and take breaks as she wants. This time tho... she seems serious.
Yeah it's true that those who leave peacefully get a bit more leeway but I think Taeyeon renewed not that long ago or is at least still in current contract for a while longer and with the fuss shes making it she decides to leave ASAP things might get a bit messy. She might be in the dungeon if the heads feel she's stepping too far, I mean she's practically refusing to attend SM town that's not a good look for SM.
If she does leave on bad terms then I fully think it wouldn't be out of character for SM to make it difficult for Taeyeon access to her catalogue. She has her own huge collection of music which rivals a full groups output and she also has SNSD, that gives her one of the biggest catalogues in all of Kpop, you can bet SM will try to milk her if she tries to use her music.
I think things are serious now. Taeyeon ha been critical in the past and did vent a lot but she kept with SM likely because she had strong standing with the higher ups so she could talk and sort things out but ever since the management change she probably doesn’t have the same level of trust anymore. Now when shit happens like her almost non existent promo for her CB she’s got no one that will listen or sort out issues. I think she would probably leave ASAP if things were easy but SM will likey hold her music catalogue so she won’t have much to perform if she moved which complicates things.
Now the question is what about the other 3. Hyoyeon also gets super basic treatment on the music side, her American tour was badly organised and her music promo is basically carried by her doing little skits instead of SM doing more promo like shows and stuff. She should also be thinking about leaving but Hyo is way too damn loyal to SM to leave. Yoona and Yuri could easily leave and join acting/entertainment agencies but I think unless goes seriously wrong for them they don’t really have big reason to leave.

The ranking hasn't changed much from my last count, but Mamamoo is back in the top 10, tied with NewJeans.
What if positions were weighted so 1 gets 10 points, 2 gets 9 and so on and count totals. That would also show which ggs get higher ranks more often so it'd be a more definite list than just mentions. Though obviously it wouldn't work for non ordered lists.

The most awesome thing is SNSD performing it live. I have never seen a gg that fucking talented especially since them. Perfect stable vocals on a chaotic song whilst doing one of the most difficult gg kpop choreo ever, SNSD showed why they are in a league of their own.
Lip sync has been basically standard place since 3G. Music shows are synced, special events like awards or gayos, groups have mediocre vocals as a result since they can rely on lip sync to save them. Encores being studied is a a thing because groups have been exposed for their true vocal abilties.
No one really cares. USA and China pollute like it’s going out of fashion, oil/coal/gas consumption is still pretty high with less adoption of renewables, nuclear fission is dying and nuclear fusion is long way off, countries rather spend money on killing each other than saving the planet and so on.
Things passed on to individuals like paper straws or recycling bins hardly matter when those actions are massively offset by the above. If a street of residents recycle everything and use as little energy as possible for a year that’s still going to be undone by a local supermarket or shopping centre. McDonald’s giving paper straws doesn’t mean much when they’re using tons of electricity, frying oils, or using plastic cup/lids.
