they are so precious together

I'm pretty sure Idol's MV was ironic. I cringe anytime I watch it, but it was 100% intended
true, it was 100% intended & i think it's iconic in its own way,
but i also think the excellence of the song itself is often overlooked because of it.
i remember the first few times listening to it while watching the mv & although it was iconic,
the mv overshadowed the song a lot.
it wasn't until i saw it at a concert stage/performance that i realised how incredible good and powerful the song is on its own (it's one of my fav bts songs now)

no, no that's fine!
i don't mind it, i just said that bc it seemed like people weren't really talking about the same thing & it felt like the conversation wasn't going anywhere. just repeating the same arguments, but if keeping this thread going helps people make their arguments clear to others, just ignore the comment!

Look at our boys!!!
Look at our pretty boys with their pretty awards!
Pfff they probably have no clue anymore what/how many awards they have won, yet i want to give them so much more..

im not trying to stop people from expressing themselves (since i was the one to bring up the topic),
but i don't think the conversation in this thread is helping anyone anymore atp
I think all sides have said what they wanted & why (im happy it stayed pretty civil), so i would say to just agree to disagree (for now)?
Again, im not trying to stop the discussion about this topic, but i genuinely dont think this thread is doing much except for repeating arguments.

no i haven't, but i just meant, looking back at it now (& only focusing on bts),
the only thing about their debut that could be considered try hard/cringe, for me,
weas their acting tough in their MV's since they had a badass/hip hop debut but they looked so cute (im not saying the mv's were poorly made)
also the members don't seem embarrased to still perform the songs, they are only cringing the moment you put those old MV's on lol

Meaningful and relatable lyrics, banger music, powerful choreo, fierce concept. BTS debut had everything to show the world their potential.

No other
kpopgroup debut shows this much of potential during their first year, let alone debut. You could've just showed me this in 2013 and I've still stanned them. I still can't comprehend how people can call No More Dream or N.O "cringe" and "try hard".I know sad songs like The Truth Untold can make fans cry, but for me N.O made my teenager self cry bc of how relatable it was. I love it when BTS performs their debut songs. I hope BTS knows their debut was anything but cringe and try hard. It was the best thing to ever happen in kpop.
tbh, the only try hard thing about it were the MV's imo
the songs themselves were really good (in general, not just for a debut) & each time i hear their old/first songs im surprised how incredible their music was from the beginning. haven't seen a group with such a strong debut (song).
ps; i forgot to mention their performances, it was clear that they were made for the stage..

I dont know from which fandom you are, but this really wasn't necessary. i was actually positively surprised that the comparisons between concerts stayed away (from what i saw),but guess i spoke too soon.
for everyone already making up negative assumptions; just enjoy the concert/let people enjoy the concert

i saw a couple of tweets saying this too; that bh is the actual owner & that the show has to negotiated with bh to keep the performances on their channel? i don't really know what's true & i tried to look it up, but it's complicated tbh (i have no knowledge about these things), but i don't understand how they couldn't work something out to keep those performances online, one way or another.

Y’all just talking now
genuinely asking, what's so wrong with talking?
nobody is calling bh a bad company & almost everyone here is acknowledging that they have done a lot of good things for bts,
but it's normal for people to notice if, in their opinion, things changed & if they are respectful about it (which practically everyone is in this thread), it's perfectly fine to discuss it.
it's not a coincidence that many people have similar feelings about this.
