    hi

    my ranking would be

    1. Cool with you

I can’t get enough of this song really, it's on loop for HOURS and I still want more :lover1: it never gets old!

i think it's really my favorite NJ track, totally my vibe as I love romantic songs and the sad club songs with a minimalistic approach. Perfect.

It's the first time i hear a kpop song that actually comes so close to the music i actually listen outside of the genra and almost reminds me a bit of groups line the xx and uk sad club music.

    2. NewJeans

NewJeans would have been a clean 2nd place IF it was a full song. Even give a run to CWY (still behind tho) because the voices and the melodies are soooo smooth and catchy, i can’t its soooo good :pepe-grooving: .

And i LOVE the chorus again minimalistic but still anthem worthy :twerkingpepe: and the dance to its sooo good, the concept the mv everything is so NJ and so perfect.

(It's a shame it's so short, i really hope we can get a longer version ;(.)

    3. ETA

I don’t know, it's such a BOP to me. Always gets me happy and exited and the dancing is so cute and catchy. I LOVE it. Actually overall both this three songs are almost all equally good each with its specific strengh.

Newjeans the best earworm, Eta the most fun and CWY the most meaningful/mesmerizing.

    4. Super Shy

I only put Super Shy above Asap because it actually has a chorus and it's a full song, not just a sort of outro even tho Asap is just so much more special and beautiful than SS and has real moments of brilliance and genious.

SS on the other hand is a cool summer song, a feel good kinda song, it has really catchy moments like 'you don’t even know my name' and the dance is pretty cool.

Also it's actually more intricate that it appears on the surface, but overall its the last memorable track for me on the record, sometimes i even skip it. It doesn’t get me as obssessed as the other songs :wellr: .

    5. ASAP

A pretty simple song/outro?? But again it's such a VIBE and I LOVE the musical direction and inspirations displayed :lover1: im like so exited to think that they could dwell more into that style :froghype: it kinda reminds me of some grimes / f(x) influences so dreamy and etheral and chill, AMAZING.

and for last, im not gonna rank get up cause comme on it's just an interlude/intro??? Who knows it's not even a minute song sooo... but what i heard of it is just soooo beautiful and mesmerizing, it's almost CWY but next level. Its insane. WOW. I truly hope it's actually a snipet of a song for their upcoming full album :pepe-hype: .

In conclusion this EP is phenomenal. I don’t remember ever being that exited about the music of any kpop act/group beforehand :holding-back-tears:.

Koreans better give Cool With You the justice it deserves! ||

    They better :pepe-cut:

    Im sure they will ;judgingpepe:

also id like to say that even tho for example Cookie is more catchy than CWY, the later is definitly the superior song/concept/mv smh.

and I also think that ETA is a better song than Attention :eyes:. Attention is more special and emotional because it's their debut song and it does sound a bit more fresh which it's normal but ETA is just far more catchy, its a major bop and it's not like Attention has more substance or anything like in the case of CWY vs Cookie.

I also prefer NewJeans to Attention mind you (music/concept wise) even tho Attention has more legend vibes to it and is more memorable but in this case again New Jeans is again more catchy. (To me, i jist reaally love Newjeans)

So in conclusion, the first EP is overally more catchy and more 'fresh' and has song a a decade aka HB in it but overall get up is just a superior EP to me.

Regardless, both of the eps have specific strengh. One think i'm sure avout it that the artistry really bloomed in the second ep. Visually and musically. There is more visual diversity and substance in it.

Hype Boy - Cookie stands undefeated bit i think CWY is NJs best song and best everything as a whole (concept, dance, mv, etc) + NewJeans not far behind.

To me the real get up trio is more NewJeans-ETA-CWY and it’s AMAZING. I think it’s a step up overall (concept, artwork, quality) even tho i agree that the first ep trio is more catchy overall but i think the 2nd ep just has more substance.

Also the 1st ep is always gonna be more fresh and more impactful because basically it was the first time we heard NJ lol, and Hype boy is song of a decade material, a song like Gee or Tell me that appears only once in a blue moon but musically and artistically to me there was clearly a step up for NJ and it had started since Ditto but mind you I think CWY is even better.

Ditto reminded be a bit of Nell and Oohyoo and CWY almost reminded me a little but of the xx, that's the freaking level :yesr: .

And if get up is actually a sort of teaser for their upcoming album as i heard somewhere (could be wrong) NJ's up coming music sounds even more promising that anything they already released which says a LOT.

    so freaking haard

Cool with you = > ETA > New Jeans are my top 3

they would all be 1 equality if New Jeans was a minute longer ;(

I don’t know, NJ is slightly below because its a bit too short. (but otherwose solid top3)

ETA is the most catchiest bop but Cool with you is just up my viiibe. Just like Hype Boy vs Cookie, still can’t choose between those two >-<.

(ps: Get up is just an interlude guys lol and Asap sounds more like a chill outro)

Super shy is the only kinda meh song overall for me. It's like a less catchy take on Cupid the song by ador. Good song, nice try but nothing really special.

also there is the question of generation and eras. what was consedered as more indie in the 10's tend to become more maintream amongst the younger gen and could very likely become the trend today.

For example Lana used to be pretty indie but she is exploding right now. f(x) wasn’t indie lol but was heavily indie inspired hence they didn’t get as big as more mainstream groups like SNSD, Kara or Sistar.

In this regard, if f(x) debuted today they would have been NJ fied and probably be just as popular. THEY woule have become the trendsetters and the 'moment'.

I think it's mostly because they debuted way to soon, in a very awkward time when SNSD was at their pike, therefore i think they just got overshadowed. SNSD was just such a phenomon. If they just debuted 3 years later (lets say 2012), it would have been much better for them to properly shine.

Also along that, a lot of RV great songs would have suited them perfectly like Ice cream cake or Russian Roulette while RV could have slayed more with songs like Red Flavor/Power up and Bad Boy/Psycho.

So basically f(x) ended up in an awkward sandwich between SNSD and RV, hencefor why they warent more popular and impactful as they could have been.

Ps: also i disagree with the f(x) and NJ comparaison, their artwork is obviously inspired because MHJ is behind but music wise they're pretty distinctive tho. F(x) is more electro pop while NJ has more rnb and hip hop inspiration amongst other factors.

Complexity and loud sounds doesn’t means quality lol :clown:. Actually restrain and subtility, freshness, novelty and meaning are more signs of quality, talent and inventivity. Truly sorry if you can't understand that .

I am has moments of greatness but it is also one of the most cringy song i have heard as of lately, it's actually half embarassing overall specially the high note chorus part. (ear bleeding  )

Kitsh was a better song tho, pretty cool but nothing memorable and sadly running after trends rather than setting them or even bringing anything new on the table.

But i'm not one to impose my taste (or taste itself actually :eyes:) on anyone. So you can think and believe that Ive has great music or lol better music that NJ if you want, whatever ^^. Music is after all a rather subjective and personal experience.

nope to all 5 of them. I see literaly absolutly like tragically nothing nothing nothing superior in Ive over NJ. Like nothing. Not even Wonyoung's beauty.

Music wise Eleven was an interesting and nice intro but since then, nothing meh.

Love dive was a very consistant pop song but nothing special either and overall Ive music is rather tacky but not in a cool way but in a 'kitsh' way lol.

So are their concepts, tacky, basic or unfashionably fashionable. (No offense but im just replying to your thread)

The best ive card is liz (and rei to some extent) but she is very inconsistant and nowhere near Hanni golden baby.

They are indeed very kpop but they sound like they're stuck in the 10's smh. While NJ is daring enough to take kpop to the next level and actually display REAL passion for music. Maybe even be at the avant garde of korean garage.

So in conclusion I highly disagree. At this point, comparing both groups sounds ridiculous. They have very very little in common and overall don't play in the same field at all. (Music, artwork, vision, star factor etc)
