It's crazy to me that Mhj, Ador and possibly the parents threw a tantrum equivalent to an atomic bomb, over a group that just debuted and barely even established their own sound and identity yet. Illit could've easily grown into a completely different concept since groups rarely stay with their debut concept (look at debut BTS vs BTS now). But these people are completely ruining everything for New Jeans over shunned egos, greed and entitledness

If this person is feeling the truth, I’m curious how they can interview SM employees without legal teams being involved. And also Belift and Pledis employees. :pepe-narrow-eyes:

Considering she took a lot of SM employees with her, I assume her team still has a close connection to employees at SM (and Belift + Pledis are colleagues, so they probs didn't think much of it). If they interviewed employees as alleged, the interviewing was probs a subtle convo with some light probing here and there. Not enough to raise alarms but enough to be a bit weirded out by it I assume. I seriously doubt they just went up to those employees and directly asked to interview them.

this is just so cringe... like shouldn't she be flattered to be a trendsetter?? instead she is obsessively looking for proof that she was "copied" instead of just taking the inspiration other groups have gotten from newjeans in stride. this is just straight up embarrassing

It's like so crazy. Imagine if Teddy was personally tracking and stalking every kpop group doing girlcrush after BP. Like most directors would take pride in the fact that they influenced a new kpop gen, but she's so extremely weird about it.

Min Hee-jin, CEO of Adore, dismissed Hive's claim that he attempted to seize management rights, invoked his right to audit, and demanded the CEO's resignation. CEO Min Hee-jin said in a phone interview with Daily Sports on the 22nd, “I have never attempted to seize management rights from Adore as Hive claimed. “How can I seize management rights with the 18% stake I own?” she said calmly, yet firmly. “It is impossible for me to seize management rights of Adore because Hive owns 80% of the shares. “Without consent, it is impossible for Adore to become independent from Hive,” she argued.

Isn't this a weak defense tho? Isn't HYBE accusing her of using illegal methods to gain more stake? Isn't the whole point that she was apparently trying to blackmail/pressure HYBE into giving her more so she can try to seize management in the future?

Question. Is the audit already over and they're now coming forwards with what they've found? Or is it still ongoing? Also, her response seems slightly more levelheaded compared to her earlier comment on hairstyles being plagiarism (I know she said other things, but the hair line in particular really confuses me b/c is long black hair not the standard over there? I digress), but her responding to the allegations at first by simply throwing a one-month-old group into the fire and hiding behind her 2-year-old group by saying they (and their parents) support her while not addressing the actual allegations is still absurd. Honestly atp, I'm just watching and hoping the actual groups don't get dragged into this anymore and it's just really rich CEOs duking it out.

    :meme-pulling-up-chair:

HYBE finished the audit, we're just waiting for them to bring out the receipts

Same, she might've been irritated about illit, but no way that's her main reasoning for her actions. Based on the articles, they've been going behind HYBE back for a while. HYBE caught wind of it and started secretly collecting evidence. They finished the audit and immediately put their foot down on Ador with no warning, making their actions public for the world the see. Ador obv didn't see this coming and probably scrambled with their PR trying to put out a statement before the public turned on them, and they went for the lowest hanging fruit possible (which is illit). I think in reality this whole situation is about her ego. She's always hated HYBE and even the girls themselves getting any credit for their success. So the moment before she started making the big bucks (touring), she's trying to book it

but it seems that they gave her lot of freedom

and they've suddenly wake up in last second to realize that things are going sideways

Korean articles seem to imply that investors are worried that HYBE is giving too much freedom to their labels. So MHJ could do whatever she wanted, but she decided that it still wasn't enough and resorted to illegal shenanigans instead. She basically kinda fucked the other labels too since HYBE might be having them on tighter leash bcs of her.

I heard a bigger chunk from the verses via a leak on Chinese forums. Def does not sound like NJ. There's a chanting-like part in the verse, they also like going from high vocals to low vocals. The verses are more "nursery rimey" than I expected.

Everyone and their mother wants to be the new twice, illit's concept execution is extremely disappointing. Using AI and making the group look cheap... but we still look forward to the debut

The artist of this clip Mooncube literally has clips of her making her artwork and animation on instagram. She's currently also going through chemo therapy for cancer, she really doesn't need kpop stans in her DMs accusing her of using AI

Twice and BTS are both huge in Japan, but their type of popularity in Japan is very different. Based on the variety shows I've watched that had either BTS or Twice on them, BTS is def regarded more like a huge western act, an act that is bringing popularity to the Asian music scene as a whole. Their international fame, achievements and the success of Dynamite and Butter in Japan always get mentioned. They are often referred to as 'worldwide idols' on majority of Japanese variety shows. The hosts are always either in awe or flustered whenever they interact with a BTS member. Like when Arashi Aiba got flustered when Hobi called him out for a dance collab during an interview. Or the panel of hosts that were absolutely shocked to the point their mouths fell open when BTS had their performance at the United Nations. We even had top celebs like Tomohisa refer to them as legends when he came across their uniforms at the Grammy museum. While Twice's popularity is def more that of top local group. Very much respected, popular and seen as iconic in Japan but doesn't get the worldwide fame reverence BTS gets whenever they are mentioned. BTS gets a shit ton of recognition and respect for their popularity and achievements beyond Japan (hence why they also get more shit from bitter Japanese supremacists who are pissed that a Korean act is doing so well).

Fairly certain Kohaku has been trying to get them to attend the show for some time now since the performance is prerecorded. It's pretty unusual for a prerecorded performance to be aired on Kohaku instead of the artists actually attending the show (especially for the 10 pm slot). I assume they probs realized there wasn't any other way for them to get Newjeans on the show, so they relented last minute, allowing a prerecorded performance instead.
