I'm hyped, I guess I will spend late winter/early spring watching those Chinese survival shows
ps: Nene looks flawless but I laughed hard when she was clapping and yogurt drink commercial show up on screen, made me remember when Nene's divorced parents team up together to buy tons of those and film support video for daughter haha

but thats the same in most entertainment industries like hollywood and korea
The movie actors are top billed and respected then drama actors then others...
Yes but the significance here is that Hollywood and the English-speaking film industry had always had the largest boxoffice and so exert outsized influence even on East Asia and China itself.
But with China emerging as the largest film market, this will change things in China and maybe across East and Southeast Asia as well.
Hollywood gets a large chunk of its BO from China. For example, Avengers:Endgame made over $600M in China. If the Hollywood blockbusters get replaced by Chinese films in China it will weaken white cultural hegemony in a big chunk of East Asia.
it's the biggest country in the world, this is a no brainer.
there's a reason why disney and other american film studios cater to chinese market and stopped portraying chinese people as villains. they are even willing to work with governments that are accused of severe human rights abuse just so they could get those coins (them failing to achieve success in such film gives me joy)
There are a lot of countries with big populations that has little or no money in their box offices. India might have a bigger population than China now but it's box office is much smaller and is actually not much bigger than Korea's.
Hollywood caters to the Chinese market? I see no Chinese or any East Asian leading stars from Hollywood. Not making movies stereotyping Chinese as villains like Fu Manchu any more doesn't make up for white racism in Hollywood against East Asians in general or Chinese people in particular. Even Mulan was scripted and directed by white people for white people. That's why it failed.
In all fairness to KPOP/Drama/Films, China is the center of the Asian entertainment market. There is nowhere else in Asia that can generate this kind of income.
China made history this weekend with record sales of nearly $775 million (RMB50 billion) within the first three days of the Chinese New Year holiday, led by an incredible $424 million (RMB2.74 billion) debut from “Detective Chinatown 3.”

That English guy is so funny.
This was on my timeline, a Youtube post of an American family in China. Mom, dad and two young kids. Very down to earth. I really like their story! It gives a pretty realistic picture of what's over there it seems.

Maybe the format doesn't allow her but I expected her to respond with a rapier wit!
Forever waiting for a Japanese Produce with girl trainees
Yes, I wonderwhy they didn't go with a girl second season after doing boys in the first. Especially this year when there are so many boys survival shows in Asia and so many Japanese contestants in one of the Chinese shows too which can cannibalize viewers in Japan.
They commented, "They are picking idol group members, right?" "These are supposed to be idol group candidates?" "They look like ahjussi's with dad bods," "I mean, I think they would be okay if they just shaved their beards," "They look more like rappers lol," "How old are they?" "I heard Chinese netizens are reacting similarly to us lol," and "They look like they have to be really skilled singers, lol."
The thing is those guys are members of group ProducePandas and they all entered Youth with You3 probably just for more recognition.

I hope they win! YWY2 placed two tomboys onto The9 including the center so if they put these guys into the debuting team in YWY3 it would only follow a trend of them being themselves!
OMG! That is so yuck (and worse if he started dating the boy earlier.) That old man wanted to go public before he was exposed. C-Ent is really on a roll as someone here said.
