I think its amazing if they can do it, but not a deal breaker if they can't. I dont respect one more than the other, because they have their own talents.

And I dont care if they and artist writes their own songs if they're bad.

As for the participation of other people, I dont think it's a big deal, but if you have 10+ people in the credits that I will question how much you truly contribute to the song.

If I dont like the singer voice, then I will probably dislike the song.

But I dont think you need great vocal skills to make the song enjoyable, although it can help to improve the song.
