Most of the good days of K-Pop was before 2018. I'd be more interested in data from 2010 (start of Gaon) until now, but they always change their f... system every 3 to 5 years, so it’s difficult ofc and not really possible to compare (no blame)..

(Actually, from 2004 until now would be even more interesting, but every data before 2010 seems to be lost, as if South Korea was a 3rd world country with no functioning music business & system at that time lol)...

Lol, finally some fans realize that 2018 gave nothing to indicate the start of a new generation. It must start with a new group getting a national hit and we got that right away with H.O.T. in 1996, TVXQ/DBSK in 2004 and Exo (one year later) in 2013. The only thing coming close to that is Itzy in 2019 with Dalla Dalla... So the beginning is either 2019 or later.. but never 2018!

I think when Lady Gaga became popular in 2008/2009, that was the reason why Kpop changed in 2009/2010 and became crazier with their videos and looks. She was one main reason & inspiration for it.

No it must be in 2013. I can’t read Korean to find the information, but I found two old AKP threads where they also mention „after 2012“:

Well now, looking back when in 2012 Crash got to #17 on the charts with 600k downloads, then in 2013 One Shot got to the same #17 with 284k! (And in 2014 the song 1004 got to #9 with 291k means, two years earlier this would have been almost double numbers).

So in the end B.A.P. weren’t really declining before the lawsuit, it was an overall problem with download numbers!

(The difference between 2008 & 2012 is another story).
