"Come up with a decision" what? The status quo dictates what will happen and Jin will have to go in a few months since he never decided to make plans earlier. Hybe and BTS are the ones trying to wind down the clock and delay the inevitable. You as an individual are the ones required to make these plans as an adult male before a set date, not the freaking Korean government.

If you all want to cite Fox News/New York Post for their entertainment coverage, it might behoove you to remember they also listed BTS's 2020 performance as a "Worst" selection in 2020. NYP is a rag, every other entertainment journo gave glowing reviews to their performance.

It is interesting how this disproves the common theory on here that an hiatuses build hype for a later comeback. They've been gone for 9 months and the results are still more or less in line with Scientist.

What a weird thing to post. SNSD had a ton of hype going into this comeback versus the other group just randomly debuting without the typical promotions.

The fact that they've performed how they have is pretty incredible.

Expectations are all relative. For instance if you were to tell people a year ago Nayeon's debut single would only reach 39 on Melon Daily, (And currently in the 70s on the hourly chart) they'd call you insane. But since Scientist drove down expectations, achievements like this are actually seen as good, along with threads hyping her as being "The top Korean kpop soloist to have her debut" on a chart that is only 6 months old.

To be clear, are you seriously saying you think this song has a chance of charting in the US? The Feels had better streaming numbers and only managed to chart one week based off of a big radio play they only received because the song was fully English. Scientist has no chance of getting on the Billboard 100.

First first group I followed was 4Minute back in 2012 so I'm 2nd gen. Scientist was a dud for me.

Twice was bound to have a flop eventually. Well, relatively speaking. At this stage they just can't compete in Korea with groups like OMG or Aespa, or even their sister group fir that matter. Their album sales are their only saving grace which mainly stems from international fans.

What drives this stage in their career actually has been the steady decline they've seen in Japan and Korea, JYP is looking to other markets to offset those loses to prop up overall album sales which is admittedly a questionable strategy.

Then there's just his overall obsession with western success. He never really gave up on it after Wonder Girls failed and is likely jealous of the successes by all the other big labels in those markets. It's a prestige thing, and JYPE is behind everyone else in emerging there.

This thread is especially ridiculous when you actually know that the song is receiving middling at best streaming numbers and will struggle to even enter the Billboard 100, let alone compete against Blackpink's debut on the charts back in 2018 or even the solo performances for that matter. The streaming numbers thus far are a fraction of what Lisa/Rose received even with the aggressive promotions. We'll see in the two weeks but I'm not expecting much given the numbers we're seeing.

Honestly if after all this they still don't reach the Hot 100, that'll be a pretty humiliating failure.

Like if they were 100 million apart at say, 700 to 800 million then yeah I could see that being "Close", but Lovesick Girls is over 50% higher in views. That's a big gap and makes this thread really weird.
