Potentially the best vocal group of the 4th gen and really solid dancers too. But their music is shit.

I have barely seen any hate directed towards the members, everyone just seems to hate their music.

Not sure. On Produce it was the agency/trainees themselves. But on Girls Planet it was mnet. Though on GP mnet didn’t only choose the song but which trainees were grouped together too. On BP it’s back to the same system as Produce with each agency preparing one performance. So it’s hard to know.

I'm honestly really impressed by the standard level of the contestants so far. Finding 100-ish contestants good enough to go on the show isn't easy. GP999 kinda failed at it. But Boys Planet is looking great so far. The only truly bad demo stage was Bak Doha's My House but at least he's pretty and that segment was the funniest part of the episode.

Sure, maybe it would've shut some people up but none of the things I brought up had anything to do with Nct not saying sunbaenim. The criticism around Bts not being addressed as sunbaenim is perhaps valid, I can't really tell since I'm not Korean and honorifics aren't used in my language, but that's far from the only thing they're receiving hate for.

Nctzens acting defensive doesn't excuse some of these comments. I'm not sure if you're referring to twitter drama but if we stick to this thread not a single nctzen or any other user has said anything that bad. Except the handful of armys desperately trying to prove they're shitty people.

Let me get this straight: A couple of NCT members were trying to tell a funny anecdote about how they constantly have to correct people who mistake them for BTS, except once when a member finally got fed up with it and instead decided to play along, resulting in the bar/restaurant serving them free drinks.

And this blew up for whatever reason...

Armys spinning the story to make it sound like NCT are running around actively pretending to be BTS to receive benefits and opportunities isn't surprising. It's not at all what happened from what I can tell but hey, petty fandom wars are to be expected.

But some armys going as far as to victim blame NCT for "going along" with xenophobia/racism is something else. You must beyond pathetic to stoop to that level only to "defend" your faves (not even sure why BTS needs defending)

Didn't expect them to do better digitally in Korea, mostly because pretty much all boy groups were failing to get hit songs, but them becoming bigger overall isn't super surprising. Itzy did better as rookies but there was never a huge gap or anything, both were extremely successful right of the bat. And hasn't TXT always sold about double the amount Itzy has? Doesn't that go for boy groups and girl groups in general

I need it to be sexy. Anything else is a waste. More towards the dark/elegant direction than fun/bright.

JYP knows how to debut solid, likable groups but doesn't know how to turn them into real, long-term #1 contenders. Their groups usually start off strong but once they solidify their top group position it's like JYP doesn't know what to do with them. They've never successfully given any of their groups that untouchable feel a #1 group needs. When a group has a hit comeback the agency usually tries to make their next comeback bigger, better and more, idk, extravagant. JYP fails at it over and over again.

YG on the other hand excels at it. Blackpink and Bigbang comebacks are/were events. A big part in BP becoming the biggest girl group is that they look like the biggest girl group. Same thing goes for BTS post-2017. SM has done it in the past too and are trying to do it again with Aespa right now.

Agree. The korean mv fits the vibe of the song perfectly while the Japanese one is a basic cute mv.

I really hope she finds a good agency. MnH did a good job at the beginning, especially considering that they were a small, new agency, but the irregular comebacks and constant delays are becoming too much. The second part of her Bare&Rare album was supposed to be released months ago and we haven't gotten any news.
