When I was a kid I would make clothes for my dolls and plushies. My favorite was making straight-leg pajama pants for male fashion dolls. I am currently working on a hemming project for a piece of my own clothing. I hate working on binding. It's the folding and holding the fold in place I dislike. I can only hand sew. I've used a machine before but don't own one, so I couldn't practice.

Aw! Cute! I don’t mind hemming, but I prefer bias tape so I don’t have to worry about my folds being uneven, it’s all prefolded for me. I would hand sew more, but I’m too impatient and I’d freak out if my stitches were even slightly uneven.
I never saw any of her videos before, I’ll have to check her out sometime.
its just time consuming, and typically im not really into that. esp because i prefer hand sewing over using a machine
I see. I much prefer machine sewing because it’s quicker, the stitches are more even and I don’t have the patience to hand sew that much.
very cuteu~
I wouldn't say I've made anything myself, but I can sew especially by hand but that's just mending something. I'm no good on a sewing machine and tbh, those sorts of crafts are kinda dying out now.
They really are and as someone that actually likes to sew with a machine, it’s sad to see it happen. I’m glad you know how to mend stuff though. That’s a useful skill to have.
Yes, i picked that up as a teenager. Our mom was very keen on forcing us to perfect our skills
i can't sew and i don't know how to
I hope you're able to learn soon if you want to. It's really fun. I'd offer to teach you, but I don't know how that would work out online.
This post made me feel in a nostalgic way! I had my first attempt in sewing when I was 10 years old - my mom teached me how to fix the holes and how to sew a buttons. Actually, it wasn't bad! Then. 4 years later, I was hyptotized by my grandma's work with the sewing machine - I remember that is was Singer's, I guess this one or not - it doesn't matter. So I had a chance to sew an apron OMG how hard it was! I had 4 or 5 attempts and the result was awful! But I decided to make friends with this evil Singer sewing machine, so the next project was an easy sleepwear. My grandmom is a person of total patience, so that sleepwear was good! And then I stopped using it because I had more important things as I thought Now I think that I should get back to sewing to make some cosplay Hyuna clothes... Hope I can do it
my mom has a traditional sewing maching and she taught me a bit when i was a child. i didn't really do anything more than dresses for my dolls though lol

Other than when I took sewing in high school and made some things, I hand sewed a shirt for a doll! I also made a little dress for my doll out of a shirt I had.
