1M is the new 500k for girlgroups and 2M+ is the new 1M for boygroups

  • IVE from a non Big-3 agency who debuted like 3 months ago is already selling 400k+ on Hanteo, probably close to 450k or more on Gaon with just 2 songs and like a month after their last cb where they sold 300k on Gaon. How much more will they be selling with a proper full album by the end of this year? The numbers are crazy now, so the benchmarks are def moving up.

  • Interesting I have noticed GGs Hanteo sales are catching up to their Gaon number especially in 2022, and all of these groups don't have overseas distribution. I suspect the gap between hanteo and Gaon for these group are not huge like before 2022. Meaning what u see on hanteo are most likely their Gaon number given maybe a few more 5 figure more on Gaon.

Just look at groups like Stray Kids, TXT, NCT, and Enhypen, who are tripling their sales numbers while social media metrics are barely rising.     social media metrics? most of bgs hv great social media metrics in terms of followers, engagements & likes. D only thing they suck esp for Hybe grps ( except BTS) is YT views but everything else they are winning. Also, physical sales are important coz they earn more ! Just bec ur faves are poor in physical sales it doesnt mean it’s irrelevant!

    I have actually never understood why KPOP fans prefer buying albums rather than streaming songs. Personally I own zero albums. It's so much easier and better for the environment to use Spotify/AM/YT to listen to KPOP, and how many people even have CD players on hand anymore to actually listen via the physical CD they get with the album? But I doubt people will ever stop buying albums, especially with companies now upping the game when it comes to photocards and album aesthetics.

    That was actually proven to be untrue and fake news.

    In the end this came from some anonymous, random internet person with no actual foundation to the speculation and number guessing, that people started to pick up without any factchecking or investigating like happens so often with fake news - and with gullible K-pop fans that believe every rumor, gossip and scandal.
