why don’t idols interact freely anymore?

    In 4th gen idols don’t just have fun together anymore. they act like robots when watching others perform too. Why? Shipping or rivalry exists back then to but idols back then still freely interact with each other.

    Interactions started to get less starting from 3rd gen, it were at its peak during 2nd gen

    even 3rd gen didn't, most of the bg x gg interactions were limited to company labelmates

    Because of fans, like the ones on this forum or twitter. Thinking that they own these idols and have an opinion and a reaction to everything they do.

    Because kpop fans will always ruin it. Even during 2 gen there plenty of stories and scandals between idols simply being friends.

    Mainly because of fandoms. And no, this doesn't go only about different sex friendships. I'll give you example.


    TXT and Enhypen are very good friends. They have always interacted freely, always mention each other, collaborate together often, show up in each other's lives, it's very refreshing to see. But moas - txt's fandom, bashed enhypen anytime this happens. Of course, it's not the entire fandom but it's lot of them. It reached the point where once, a txt member was talking about an idol friend but he said he won't mention his name because he doesn't want his fans to fight. So yeah, fandoms play a huge role in this

    It's fans like you, who "live" for these reactions to feed your delusion about how they're secretly dating. That's why these idols feel like they're under a microscope. Imagine being perpetually worried about what you say or do in the fear that kpop fans will create a story and spread it all over the internet.


    I used to enjoy watching reaction videos too, it's nice to see my groups' peers be positive or vibe to their music, but as usual, virgin nerd kpop fans fuck it all up.

    because of stans. Stans hate when idols interact, then act stupid when other idols dont react to their favs performance. :pepewhat: . Also could be in their contracts.


    Oh My Girl recently was on Knowing Brothers, and they mentioned that the higher ups and in their contract stated that; no dating, no looking at other boys group, they had to turn around facing the wall when boys group walked by. It is to that extend. I do understand why the rules were imposed, because of fkn stans.


    Who knows how creative agency are nowadays and what rules they imposed.

    SNSD did have a lot of interaction with 2PM afterwards though, collabs but they also mentioned how they met up with idols from other groups in their private life for drinking evenings, incl 2PM members.

    Aside from that, they also had a lot friendly banter going on with other boy groups like Big Bang etc.


    Of course, all that was when they became huge, but the amount of interactions between bgs and ggs and bg members and gg members was a lot more frequent, incl collabs etc.
