The only thing the groups you mentioned are better than NCT at is Spotify streams. And you don't need to combine all the units to get to that conclusion, nct dream alone is enough. NCT dream are actually decent in Spotify so the gap isn't even huge.

Because nct had been called a failure and flops for like 5 years, until they started selling in the million range sometime in 2020. They're being used as an example why you shouldn't write off a group and asume they would never make it.
