Did Sohye getting proven to be a bully do anything to her career?

I understand that a lot of people wouldn't put it past Sohye that she was able to act her way through the whole thing and the image of PD was curated.

I wouldn't put it past the powers of time to change a character either, if the bullying happened.

ugh this just got me riled up. This one thread hit a little too close.

Even during Produce there were rumors about how she made herself to look pitiful on camera but actually was very infamous in her school. On a few occasions people from her school spoke out to confirm that. I remember there was even a person on Reddit who verified they were from the same school and they said her reputation preceded her and that she was well-known for the things she did.

I'm one for not forever holding things against people who've committed them as kids and are actually remorseful but from all I've read she basically never apologised, her company and her lied and media played the situation, there's proof of her doing things via her school records and she allegedly faked her whole personality. Which is a huge mess. She could be changed, things could've been blown out of proportion, etc.

But! Her company claimed that the police found that her accuser was the actual perp and that they lied about the whole situation, which helped Sohye's rep until it was discovered that this was not even close to what has happened.

3. However, OP felt that if they deleted the post, the fact that Kim Sohye was a school bully will just become like something that never happened so they didn't delete the post

4. The conclusion of the investigations cleared OP from the charges

5. Reason: there was actually a record that the school violence committee of S*M* all-girl middle school had stating that they punished Kim Sohye for being a perpetrator

6. So the post that OP wrote was not treated as false information

its kinda heartbreaking to me, really. Her image on PD101 is a role model for me still too.

It's sad because it seems that it was only that - an image. It's easy to see why she at that time would be a role model. She was a hardworking and kind underdog that struggled a lot but did not give up.

Wow. I didn't even know all of these accusations happened. That was how low-key it was. But it sounds like she was a legitimate bully with actual records instead of being a he-said-she-said situation . It feels funny that kpop fans have crucified people like AOA's Jimin and ruined their careers with nothing much to go by but Sohye gets a free pass. Specially considering that the whole "slow and clumsy yet endearing underdog" image from Produce 101 seems to have been nothing more than just another one of her acting gigs. It kinda makes me feel a little sick thinking about it.

The devil works hard but her company's PR team works harder it seems. She's basically irrelevant internationally at this point so it's no wonder the conclusion of the situation got virtually no coverage - and the coverage it did get didn't really hit it big because not a lot of people care.

It is "irony", that Sejeong the best singer in IOI has a better acting career than, the aspiring actor of IOI Sohye - bullying or not.

Variety and drama, Sejeong is having a good run - Both Counters and Busted were hits and renewed, and then she has 2 other major label dramas coming in 2022 alone.
