Changed the title of the thread from “Countries where kpop is the most dominant music genre” to “Would you say kpop is the most dominant music genre in your country?”. -
Not at all, in fact here in my country I would say it's a massive niche and still considered quite small and alternative.

It's pretty much a niche everywhere. Even in Korea where the genre originated, it's still a niche lmao

Nope, not at all 😄.

Lol definitely not and in an English speaking country I doubt it will ever be anything more than music for Asian groceries/restaurant.
But HYLT was played on Aus Open broadcast the other day, so that's an improvement

Absolutely not
Here in Brazil there's all the brazilian genres dominating first (forró, sertanejo, funk, samba, pagode, MPB etc) only then western pop, then western rock, then all other types of western music. I dare to say even jpop/jrock might be more popular than kpop here because the japanese culture influence is much and far bigger than korean's (Brazil is only second to Japan when it comes to biggest amount of japanese population).

Nope and it will never be.

Another fellow brazilian lmao, I started to noticed it when you recommended Anitta on some other post.
But yeah, I can't agree more, specially when jmusic is taken in consideration. I think that kpop will eventually get mainstream here, a dream? Yes, but we can't just take it as a defeat, we will endure, and maybe someday kids will make fun of one another, saying "lol your mom like WG instead of SNSD".
