Kai is still the chosen one. Did you see the promotions he got for his albums? He was everywhere in Korea. No one in sm history has got those. Kai and chanyeol were the chosen ones. Baekhyun pulled through. Taeyeon irene krystal were the chosen ones. But no one got as much push as taeyong and karina. Even seolhyun was never pushed this much.

Baekhyun is the most talented member of EXO and is making them a shit ton of money so he's the golden boy if you want to call it that. Same with Taeyeon.

Winter is more talented than Karina, she can sing rap and dance. After watching winter solo in mama and Karina solo the next mama , irs quite easy to tell who has raw talent . Sm mediaplaying Karina’s visuals in Korea is literally the funniest thing because she’s getting more hate, they use her body to make her out as a top visual meanwhile the visuals before her their mediaplay was based off face because they actually fit Koreans taste, Karina face has so many disapproving opinions that sm has to use body for mediaplay , this is why winter is more popular now she’s the one who actually has a visual Koreans like.

The way I understand it, I'd say irene. Although her visuals are genuinely popular in korea, i always had the vibe SM was spoiling her and gave her preferential treatment which helped...
Also SM handled her scandal way better than any of their other idols scandals. She is basically back succesfully promoting as if nothing happened and it almost seems like the public already forgot about it. Maybe wait a few months and she'll go back to all the CFs and maybe gets even more.. SM made smart choices in irenes career to help her to rise like she did. In the end it was irene herself who destroyed her momentum. She could have become even bigger and unbothered nowadays if the scandal never happened. Tho SM really went superpower mode to save her career

I understand that she had MY KARINA and that crowned scene, but the crowned scene was literally not the best quality of all smcu. in fact, they used the scene completely randomly because it didn't even fit the concept. karina is not a member with two dominant songs in screen time and line distribution or a solo moment in choreography. I will never understand people. in addition, all her activities concern her role in the group, at what point did the company show favoritism?
