Yes, but no. Men are half the population, so you're missing on a lot of potential listeners. But girl groups also have more female listeners, so that's not the sole reason.

Deep rooted issues of toxic masculinity can’t be solved just like that. And that’s not something that affects just men. Also women.

This doesn’t mean that all BGs are making spectacular music but it does explain why even if a BG has the exact same producer and talent level as a counterpart GG they can’t chart.

Well, the population ratio is still 1:1, just not the Melon listeners. Assuming the 60:40 ratio for GGs and the 80:20 ratio for BGs, it would make the current #22 song be #10. But it would only make the #109 song be #100. It has an impact, but not enough to justify not entering the top 100.
