Do you think Kpop groups only attend to award shows if they are sure about winning something?

It's kinda obvious but you're onto something. I know the popular groups earned awards based on data but did all the artists (even the "flops") win a prize at the show they attended?

It makes sense for rookies to attend for promotion but what will a senior artist get from sitting around all day? There are no fans to go for nowadays too

They only won AAA which is an attendance awards so...but they lost on the major awards

It's been like this for years. It's why the term attendance award became so prominent.

it depends on the artists. some senior artists like bts or iu or artists from big companies dont attend all shows even if they win the biggest awards. thats understandable since they got like hundreds of awards and kind of get used to it.

On the other hand rookies or groups from smaller companies may attend without getting awards because of promotion. But i think they more and more tend to also give those less successful artists some kind of consolation award.

Then there are special cases like brave girls. they will attend every show they get invited cause they dont take it for granted. Due to criteria they arent eligible for the awards but ignore them despite their success would also look stupid so they get consolation awards.

BTS still won awards despite not attending some award shows?
