Their music is definitely more palatable to the West compared to most groups. YG groups in general use a more hip-hop sound which is popular/ originated in the West.

Not sure why people like to use the word westernised and single out BP. Those type of music is popular in the west but they are similarly used in Kpop all these while too.

Surprised that people call BP 'westernised' when YG/teddy has been using these sound since Big bang/2ne1 days while SM literally bought most of their songs/demo from western producers. Most of the groups nowadays have influence from western music, especially girl crush songs. Unless to you, kpop = bubbly cute songs but I thought this has been debunked very long ago

I think their music is westernized, but so is the whole K-pop, It was built from western music since 90s. If a person wants to hear an original korean sound is searching in the wrong genre.

When Westernized is use with Kpop it refers to the ease of mass Western Music Listeners being able to be sold on the Visual and Sound.

Hip Hop and Girl Crush are Concepts and Music that are easy to promote to Non-Koreans, oh, Boy Groups tend to have it easier too.

But simply based on how much bigger a Kpop Group is in Western Countries is the biggest clue, example is that Western based BLINKs actually think that BP has sold more albums and have more number 1 Gaon songs than TWICE does in South Korea
