I just realized the lack of big girlgroups debuting this year...

I mean, not to say any of these ggs is doing bad, (although Lightsum is not doing good for a Cube gg imo), but damn no gg debuted this year had a big impact on the K-pop scene and we didn's see debuts from the Big 3 or Hybe.

Although IVE and Kepler are coming soon and surely making some noise but it's wild how the 2 most popular rookies are going to debut at the last month of the year.

  • groups which debut in december will 'count' into 2022 awards poll so...

let the battle for next year awards begin lol

+ Billlie already also counts for 2022

for example both aespa and STAYC are nominated for new artist on 2021 MAMA, and both groups debuted in november 2020.

  • No big company put out a group. We can't expect small/nugu company groups to hit big easily.

Hitting big is obviously pretty much impossible for rookie groups under mid/small companies, I did expect Lightsum to do better though, it really feels like Cube is getting stagnant, they have talent but they don't know how to push it, they are like the "known Kpop company that will never get too high". At this point, Starship and other mid tier companies are getting more hype which is crazy for a company that had 4minute, Beast and has BtoB and G-Idle.
