  • If they released Domino as a title track, It would be ¬‿¬

  • it's anything but impossible :danceb:

skz have the ability to create songs that are catchy and unique and also ones that touch and resonate with people

  • Their songs arent gp friendly. honestly, stray kids fanbase is solid enough that they don't need one but i feel like they still will get one since gp is starting to like songs similar to stray kids style

wait what song gp likes that are similar to skz's music, skz's music is very unique itself so idk what other artist have similar music to theirs

  • Idk but even gods menu couldn't chart high so I'm starting to doubt it

  • if they change their song style to be more gp friendly or catchy enough then why not???but i agree it's hard to balance international fandom needs and gp needs

Do 4th gen boy groups with more gp friendly songs get hits though?

Also, Stray Kids have an extremely diverse discography

TXT does gp friendly songs and they are from big 4 still can't get national hit nor semi hit it doesn't have to do with the song it depends on luck

  • Personally, I wouldn't want them to change their style and sound to a mere possibility to get a hit and risk their identity, which is much more important for the stability of a group, for something that we don't know If It will happen or not. The members are not interested in changing either.

If one day they get a hit, I hope It's being loyal to the sound they chose because they wanted and not what others thought they needed.

If they don't get, It's fine too, they are already successful on their own.

This tbh, seeing how more daring edm bangers are managing to chart.

It ultimately comes down to group branding and luck. Not a matter of putting out a friendlier title track.

  • also i wanna add that their current style is great, regardless whether its a hit or not, their songs are good

I agree, i'm so glad they stuck by their sound since its what makes them stray kids. it's rare for kpop groups nowadays to have a unique sound when they all follow trends aswell

  • but txt charts better than them so that's a start

true! but as it stands, still just comparing crumbs in the 4th gen bg chart debate. Wonder which one is really gonna break out and manage to stay afloat on it and chart well.

The 4th gen bgs groups need more variety show promo to boost their songs.

  • No, they can't even keep a song in the Melon top 1000 after like a couple of months.

I think it would be more reasonable to ask, can Stray Kids ever have a decent sized hit first. Something that can stick arounf in the top 80-100 for a fair few weeks and build on that. A national hit? We're talking like songs of Cheer Up, Boy With Luv or Love Scenario level? Hell no!

They would need a shift from whatever they put out now to Korean focused songs and proper and thoughtful promotions(which is just not something Jyp gives to their groups anymore)

  • but txt charts better than them so that's a start

that also supports that music doesn't matter. TXT charts better cus they had better start than SKZ at debut, they had bigger south korean fandom than skz right from debut due to more exposure. But releasing gp friendly song with such big fandom push gp still don't care them and they still can't get hit song is basically says music doesn't matter. For SKZ, first of all they need big enough south korean fanbase to be stable in melon at least few days then we will know if gp clicks with their song.

  • Maybe? Scars was really good. I hope it has a Korean version.

  • hyunjin scandal ended their chances

    It didn't though.

  • Flopzy can't even get one and they came out the gate with 1 , Txt have a better chance than noise music strays

  • The salt in this thread is hilarous.

  • Maybe when they learn to release music that doesn't give people migraines and wasn't recorded on a treadmill lol so much noise!

  • If they couldn't after kingdom, it seems even less possible now.

But that doesn't mean they can't.

In the end it's all on luck...

  • It's better to ask if any 4th gen bg can get a decent hit first, and is hard to predict if a song can go viral.

  • How about we talk about you not realizing that NCT DREAM and 127 debuted in 2016.

Both TXT and SKZ debuted 2-3 years after them, and thus, are in different point in their career.

Ok smart ass read the quote I replied to then go sit in a corner for being stupid want to compare to NCT when your faves have the advantage but any other time "they debuted in 2016"

  • If they couldn't after kingdom, it seems even less possible now.

Kingdom flopped, at it's highest it had a viewership rating of 0.5%, the only time it made news was Stray Kids' God's D4 and the Ryan interactions that followed and Lisa appearing; so it's not like Kingdom was something that could've and would've changed anything.

However, SKZ still managed to grow their k-fandom a bit. Meanwhile, their i-fandom has been on an exponential rise since Go Live era (not because of Kingdom)
