irene shouldn't have become an idol

  • irene is the center of the group for a reason . No other member can come close to her potential. She is a great dancer . Decent vocalist. Amazing stage presence. (Yes her face is blank but her presence doesn't come from her visuals. Believe it or not it's because of her body expressions) . She 'was' amazing at variety shows . But i acknowledge she got less courage because of hate .

Her personality is that of a typical top celebrity. Like tactfulness authenticity beauty fun and quirky. High eq and such . Yes she got too anxious for a long while but her performance is much better now 2020_ 2024 she is bqck to her old self .

Not a filler member at all infact i think she is the most essential member .

So no irene's decision at being an idol isn't wrong but just suited

Funny how the criticism didn't come of her before the scandal . Just shows how dishonest your criticism is

  • But I guess they love what they do more than they fear facing the crowds.

The introvert queen Jisoo always talks about how much she loves spending time alone and that socializing can be exhausting for her. However I do recall her saying in an interview that even though she feels it can be more difficult for herself than the other members to go out on the stage, it is worth powering through to be able to deliver to her fans. She is such a lovely idol :lover1:

Exactly! Same with a few members of Twice. They can be so shy, that sometimes during the interviews they only say "Hi" and "Goodbye". But they love performing for the fans and their energy on stage changes so much. :pleading: 😊

  • Re: OP:

I think that what is done is done.

However there is no doubt regarding Irene's intention to debut, considering that she didn't quit while a trainee, whatever her motivations. I don't think it was explicitly explained to or that a report prepared for her but the hardships you've outlined undoubtedly was self evident with being an idol - an intentionally public figure - no matter the group. It would seem to me, especially since companies often train their idols for public events, that this was evident to Irene and the fact she had completed training with SM and continued to debut with RV and continuing to be a member of RV tells me, with some certainty that she highly likely finds these issues tolerable, and has accepted these issues and agreed to continue at any point in time.

I cannot claim with absolute certainty what anyone thinks. That is simply the nature of the complexity of human nature, and my extreme distance to her both physically, socially, etc. But I hope with these simple assumptions, that
    - 1. She knew, at least moderately, that the hardships you've listed (withstanding public and extroverted events) are part and parcel with being an idol.
    - 2. That she accepted these as necessarily part of being an idol.

    - 3. That she "agreed" with experiencing these hardships if it meant that she'd become and continue to be an idol, by seeing that she did not quit before debut and is continually part of RV to this day.
One can assume that her intention is not so easily swayed or that these issues were part of her consideration and thus can be considered, logically, that it was part of her intent, keeping in mind that it may not be part of her specific intent (i.e. she didn't become an idol to specifically be a part of these adverse events, but has considered that it may happen while carrying out her intent).

A word of caution: the wording of my statements may connotate or imply that she thinks of these constantly. I do not claim that. In fact I posit that these thoughts only probably come up when a particularly egregious fan or event with matching behavior or circumstance pop up, again probably causing, a re-evaluation of the why and wherefore of a current situation, whichever instant in time it may be.

I appreciate your intent for the well being of Irene, and as a fan, I also wish the best for her as well. This answer is simply a verbose request to consider all factors deeper into the situation and to her as a person, and not simply make knee jerk reactions due to face value information from a short period of time.
