Kep1er is named after a star

Kepler is actuall the astronomer Johannes Kepler. He figured out planets orbit patterns. He had a space telescope and mission named after him which sought out distant planets. The star system is named after the telescope mission.

It's the added '1' for "edge" that really made the name scrap worthy for me.
