The ebb and flow of NGG title and why it’s perplexing for Aespa

NGG has always took turns from SM to JYP and back and forth

SM - SES ——>

JYP - WG ——>

SM - SNSD ——>

JYP - Twice ——>

SM - Aespa*

So here we are and Aespa is having massive success. If I know this pattern then I’m sure Koreans remember. So it’s perplexing they aren’t yet talking about the obvious. Aespa got a PAK, so they are obviously listening to them

From a promotional standpoint that’s a huge blunder on not capitalizing on their current success to acquire the NGG title. It carries a lot of weight in the Korean public, and it helped Twice and SNSD become such long term successes.

That’s why RV, despite their great discography, often had to play catch up with Twice. Imagine if RV got the NGG title first, kpop would be a lot different now
