Have any Chinese K-pop idols ever re-signed with their Korean label? Also, do you think it is a bad idea for Korean companies to debut multiple Chinese idols?

  • They all do it at the same time......

You think they’re all posting “one china” because they want too?

Plus even top actors, entertainers etc attended a gathering to to study the spirit of the 19th Party Congress, where Xi gave that speech and set out his “Thought on Socialism With Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.” even people like Lu Han were there. No need to act like this...

OK, so what I said is correct, you don't have any evidence.

You think they post "one china" because they are forced to? If people support trump or Biden, they are free to express their thoughts, but support ccp must be forced to do it?

And, Do you know how many Chinese stars (big in China) that don't post one china and still earn so much. How could you explain that?

It’s the kpop idols posting it, nearly all of them thst were active on sns posted. Some even posted shit “remembering chinese lives lost in korea” as if China wasn’t the one aiding the North? They played a major role in the korean war, that still hasn’t ended. Why would they do themselves dirty? Especially in a country they are active in? They all have korean members snd some even have taiwanese members, it’s not that they can’t believe it themselves but the timing and the extent of chinese idols that did it at the same time it was obvious ccp had a hand in it. No one is gonna f*ck themselves over in Korea willingly, whether it’s their belief or not.

Also, you’re forgetting, it was the kpop idols that posted it, why not the chinese celebs? Because they’re in China and wouldn’t have a reason to. Whilst the ones in korea are working in korea with koreans everyday and their belief can alter. China has the firewall snd strict government while korea doesn’t. This was practically them swearing in “allegiance with China”. No need to act dumb, this shit was clearly orchestrated whether they believe in it or not (which most probably do to some extent if not fully ie Lay)

Anyways, I’m not defending chinese idols whatsoever. I can’t tell what side you’re on, those idols need to go. Whether the ccp told them to do it or not they most likely did it on their own.

If koreans hate them, it’s their right. Many idols posted shit that distorted korean history, of course we have s right to be pissed. All in all, those idols can take this finger, especially idols like Lay and Jackson. Fuck them all.

  • Like many has pointed out in the past about vietnamese kpop idols, it's all about profit. Vietnam is not a profitable market. The country is still behind major SEA countries such as Indonesia, Thailand and even the Philippines in terms of economic developement. I think Indonesia after Thailand will have a presence in Kpop after the debut of Dita in Secret Number.

But I'm still rooting for Hanbin to become the first vietnamese Kpop idol and I think he is close to a debut. When that happens, I think we may see more vietnamese trainees in Kpop.

  • Can anyone be more specific about "mistreatment" for specific idols? I'm less concerned about "few" lines or solos as those have to be earned.

    Also, "horrible" contract terms.

I like Winwin but his style doesn't quite fit in with NCT. He's clearly very talented but somewhat lacking in their chosen style IMHO. Also, he's a large group of talented people, so it'll always be competitive for each song.

Who knows if he lacks? 4 years and hes never given any spotlight except once and he did exceptionally well. It’s a known fact that they treat chinese idols like shit.

Being newer to k-pop, I "heard" things particularly about former Exo-M members but agencies also have to change if they want to bring in newer talent. So this "known fact" also just sounds like conventional wisdom that's not being reassessed with newer Chinese idols.

So, I'm asking for more current specifics.

Regarding Winwin, I've seen his Lovely choreo and he's talented. I've seen breakdowns of him doing NCT choreo--and he's lacking. When I see him perform his solos in NCT songs...he's lacking compared to other members.

Based on what I see, NCT choreo is very different than what he grew up with. But, lots of idols are in that situation...so I'm asking for more specifics. Other Chinese NCT members have gotten good spotlights in the last comeback, particularly ones that didn't stick out in WayV. So, I'm trying to separate things that idols should earn for themselves versus actual mismanagement (i.e. lack of training, preparation, isolation from the group).

If anything, the move to globalize k-pop should benefit Chinese members more in the long run. Companies primarily only do things that are in their interest, most fans can only guess and tend to think short term.

  • I can't think of a single Chinese kpop idol who decided to stay with their Korean Company after their initial contract was over (if they even made it that far). Also, for the benefit of the group, do you think it is a good idea to debut multiple Chinese idols? Usually, they are the ones who get mistreated and many leave their own groups. Losing one group member is bad enough, but losing multiple members is much worse. So I think it's not such a good idea to debut multiple Chinese idols. Unless the company makes absolutely sure to treat them all fairly.

Fx Victoria re-signed with SM after her initial contract was ovee and left after 10 years even after she was so huge in China and there's LAY who doesn't need Korea whatsoever but he hasn't left so it depends.

Chinese idols make a lot of money for companies and their groups. One Chinese idol can attract lots of fans for other group members but it bad when they leave.

  • Depends on the company. SM is probably the worst for Chinese idols by far. I don't blame any of them for leaving that company with the way they were treated. I'm saying this as a huge Winwin fan, but I hope Winwin is the next Chinese idol to leave SM. They literally act like Winwin doesn't exist.

But former and current SM idols are the most popular and most successful in China so I don't understand.

In my observation, all idols suffer so much and only their abilities and potential can get them better treatment. SM is the only agency that tries to push all idols regardless of their positions in the group.

Winwin gets a lot of attention even when he has no lines, his disadvantage is not having trained long enough to learn Korean. He was going to be huger had he promoted more on variety shows in Korea before going back to China like Fx Victoria.

Winwin still has a bright future ahead because in China he gets solo gigs, soon, he'll get into acting and he'll be the next Luhan in dramas and movies.

  • Interesting. They must have offered her a great contract considering she barely promotes in Korea and she could have just signed to a Chinese label.

She would have promoted more in both countries like LAY did in the beginning but sadly, THAAD happened so they went back home in order not to be traitors to their country.

  • every chinese idol has successful following their initial stint in Korea (save for Cao Lu from fiestar, if my memory is correct)

they all go back to China with the skills they've learnt an make$$$

Facts only! All Chinese idols need Korea to get something that China doesn't easily provide. When they leave, they all become huge.

yeap the training potential in korea and the ruthlessness of korean trainees lives will help such persons perfect their art and hone their skills both physical and mental...and that is something that China does not currently have...

If one can tough it out like say 10 hours a day for 12/13 days a fortnight as a trainee and pass that and pass the auditions and debut and become (it really doesn't matter) even modesty successful then you can go home with the skills you've learnt and go even further in one's native country

  • Yeah... The way SM treats Winwin is horrible. He barely gets any lines in any songs, and he basically got removed from 127, without any warning or notice that he was being removed from the group. Things are a little better for him in WayV, but he still lacks lines in songs compared to the other members, except for maybe Hendery, who has a comparable amount.

Winwin has to improve vocally to get more lines. It happens in all SM groups.

Taemin almost didn't participate in their debut song because of poor vocals, he had no solo part. He went back trained hard and got lines in their other titles and he got a solo debut too.

Besides Snsd Yoona, Sooyoung, Yuri and Hyoyeon, Fx Sulli and Victoria, Exo Sehun can all relate to Winwin. Even Nct Dream Jisung had very few lines but he improved his vocals and now he's a sexy vocalist.

I don't think Winwin is focusing on singing, his focus seems to be on something else like variety shows, modeling and dancing.
