Not going to lie, I thought you meant family members of the idols. As long as they aren’t hurting anyone, don’t really care if they ship.

If my family pulled that shit in public, on social media where everyone can see, I would be calling immediate family meeting and would go off on them for embarrassing me like that

Yeah it’s pretty stupid of family members of idols to encourage shipping. Already delusional shippers are making stuff out of thin air and then you get the parent of an idol liking a shipping tweet, that’s a recipe for disaster

Even if I consider that fans are delusional to ship their fav idol to other idol. But when I saw family members of Idols who ship their daughter or sister to other idol, follow ship accounts, give love react to fanarts, it is beyond pathetic, delusional, disgusting.

If my family members had done it in social media platform where people know me, I surely would have disowned them. It is my perspective but other may enjoy this.

Do you know it's shipping for sure though? Sometimes a parent will follow a regular fan account of their kid, and then it becomes a shipping account and they don't notice or know what that is.

Or even some times I guess the person could know the idols in real life and be liking posts that seem to celebrate a friendship without understanding the subtext underneath it.

I mean......I can't really blame them. I mean at one point we all have someone that we want our children to end up with.

Also sometimes family members don't see the harm, they think that what they said/replied to is hyping up the platonic relationship between two members, I doubt there is anything more than that.

Personally, I refuse to believe that some family members of idols are supposedly shipping them with other idols... that too publicly. But if this is the truth then I don't even know what to think, except cringe.

Family members of kpop idols should stay away from shipping and fanwars, because they will just add fuel to the fire of delulus. We saw what happened with "our hardwork". Bullies and delelu shippers are toxic enough without the stamp of approval, family members' involvement give.

Even if the idols are already dating discretely or you as a family member wish for it to happen, giving clout to shippers is not the way to go. They are not angelic matchmakers, but disturbed individuals who don't know the concept of boundaries, just like sasaengs.
