I would disown my family if they embarrassed me like that. But it's different over here on the kpop side. What are your thoughts AKP ARMY?
[BTS CONTENT] Should we be concerned if family members are shippers?

Unless they are shipper themselves that would explain it.

If my family pulled that shit in public, on social media where everyone can see, I would be calling immediate family meeting and would go off on them for embarrassing me like that

I meant family members of idols. It's one thing when fans are delusional. It's expected. But family members engaging in the same behavior? I don't know how to nicely call them delusional.
-
embarrassing
Omg where have you been?
-
-
-
Yikes, I guess I know who is it too. But sometimes it doesn't mean anything and the families just support their friendship (and nothing else) and fans read too much into it. But did anything happen recently? What have I missed?

Oh, well then, errrrrrrr they could be fans but idrk, I've seen some cases like that (not just in kpop) and it just feeds the shippers narratives a lot so I will always remain iffy of it.

Ohhh so that's what you meant.
Yes I think that's pretty bad if the idol's family members are. They should be respectful as we all should.
(pretty sure this is what you mean? correct me if I'm wrong)

Yup, I mean family members can be stans of some idol but when you are aware that your posts feed shippers, should you not kinda act responsibly? I mean I dunno man, its a grey area.

Yup, shit you would rather not appear on your feed but alas, its expected every year this time of the year cause its you know what today.

Even if I consider that fans are delusional to ship their fav idol to other idol. But when I saw family members of Idols who ship their daughter or sister to other idol, follow ship accounts, give love react to fanarts, it is beyond pathetic, delusional, disgusting.
If my family members had done it in social media platform where people know me, I surely would have disowned them. It is my perspective but other may enjoy this.

Lol I think ppl don’t want unnecessary fan wars here

I will give you a general statement of what this is about.
about families of celebrities publicly shipping them with other celebs by liking or following shipper pages and posts

this much I got, I'm just trying to figure out who the involved parties are. Somebody at least DM me to save me from looking too closely at twitter shipping accounts.

Okay let me dm you.

Yikes !!! #freethebunny

Do you know it's shipping for sure though? Sometimes a parent will follow a regular fan account of their kid, and then it becomes a shipping account and they don't notice or know what that is.
Or even some times I guess the person could know the idols in real life and be liking posts that seem to celebrate a friendship without understanding the subtext underneath it.

Eh, same thing as someone else. If they keep it to themselves, do whatever makes you happy. Seeing some of the other replies, did something happen that brought on this question?

Can someone tells me who this thread is about ? JK and someone else ?
Also sometimes family members don't see the harm, they think that what they said/replied to is hyping up the platonic relationship between two members, I doubt there is anything more than that.
It's not like family members of idols were on kpop twitter in the middle of the fanwars

Personally, I refuse to believe that some family members of idols are supposedly shipping them with other idols... that too publicly. But if this is the truth then I don't even know what to think, except cringe.
Family members of kpop idols should stay away from shipping and fanwars, because they will just add fuel to the fire of delulus. We saw what happened with "our hardwork". Bullies and delelu shippers are toxic enough without the stamp of approval, family members' involvement give.
Even if the idols are already dating discretely or you as a family member wish for it to happen, giving clout to shippers is not the way to go. They are not angelic matchmakers, but disturbed individuals who don't know the concept of boundaries, just like sasaengs.
