I don't think it's an apology for dating per se but rather apology for "surprising the fans" or how the news came out...

tbvh, I rarely see any idol saying they're dating beforehand, unless it's a shocking news like marriage or a baby.

i think only TVXQ's Changmin has done it (the one I can remember atm).

that being said, I think that the media revealed their relationship way too soon. it seems they're still meeting each other in a romantic way and she wasn't ready to reveal it yet. T.T
