Why were BTS the first ambassadors to walk in a global fashion show?

  • I always feel so self-conscious as an ARMY because kpop fans like to call BTS cheap because BTS never gets those fancy ambassadorships (I hear those pay a ton, like every instagram posts pays a couple hundred dollars and idols get to free clothes from time to time after a magazine shoot). Even though industry rumours have circulated for years that BTS is really hard to book for fashion deal not because they lack demand, I just don't know what to believe. McDonalds and Samsung and home appliances just don't sound very luxurious, you know? Since I'm only 13 I don't really understand the luxury fashion thing. So why are BTS the first ones to walk a fashion show?

    :pepeflushed:

Oh!! Our 13 year old maknae army!!!! :cutes:

    Don't pressurize yourself.

Let me describe it in baby words.

Those who called BTS cheap for not having luxarious brands though luxurious brand's representatives reported multiple times that BTS get offers but decline them, are mostly fans of groups who are irrelevant in music world so they need st o drag BTS.

Now when they are seeing their favs are only for being pasting on Brands name & bangtan is walking they are having meltdown.

When you grow up, you will understand how toxic it is to think wearing luxury brands makes people who wear them better than others :pepelove1:

Luckily you're an army and have good role models, who dont overpromote luxury brands, unlike some other idols. Everyday brands are just as important and normal! And all fans can use them, while most fans cant even afford the luxury brand products!

And BTS was the first to walk, since the others arent famous enough.

Ok guys, let's acknowledge that it was only select users that try drag BTS for not having this or that. You know who I'm talking about. They're called haters, antis or trolls. They just happen to be very loud and prolific and in a weird twist LOVE to talk shit about Bangtan - as if by repeating it, it will come true. I will admit though that the delicious irony of Bangtan achieving basically everything they try to drag them for is such poetic justice to answer salty tears.

As for why BTS walked when most ambassadors don't - I think that is more down to the heads of LV. They have a very diverse group of individuals with a Ghanian at the helm in Virgil Abloh. His vision seems to embrace diversity and what's more fitting than to have the biggest global artists represent part of that diversity? It doesn't seem too far-fetched to think they had this in mind at the start.

lmao thats sort of true! Every brand deal that BTS's has had has used them to their fullest. Just look at McD's and Samsung ^^

  • As someone said, if you're going to pay a shit-ton to get BTS to endorse your brand, you are not just going to snap a few pictures.

I really hope we get some behind-the-scene ? That's definitely something that seems super interesting.

  • Thank you for explaining! I hope we will get to see BTS oppas faces everywhere soon on LV billboards. I like to walk around the mall with my mommy and it would be so cool to see BTS at the mall!

  • I woke up to this. It was soooo crazy.

I hate that I don't have much time to gush over it but...

They really forced LV to bend over and get a contract with the whole group AND then get a full project around them.

AND then they just killed it! Teaching everyone how it should be done~

Thank you Unnie! I'm equally happy seeing my oppas working with LV or Mcdondalds. I hope we will see a BTS x Disney soon!

  • Even before idols, korean actors were endorsing luxury brands

Difference is BTS are getting paid in 8 figures most probably . They have their own terms ,that brands come to korea for them

Most idols and groups get sponsored free stuff etc

BTS are world's top act. They have the power. Simple . They don't need to warm seats all over the world to show their image. Their power and clout speaks for them.

  • don't worry, age doesn't have anything to do with it as im older and I don't understand very much about the fashion world either :nervousk: but from their interviews and behind the scenes content, BTS have hinted many times that they get plenty of offers so its definitely not lack of demand, but has more to do with their music commitments and lack of time to do much else (tours, multiple comebacks a year, weekly variety shows, etc etc). But yeah the question still remains why they were the first despite lack of experience :/

Thank you Unnie for the explanation! I always know that BTS never lack the demand, they just do what they want and when they want. Some people never learn to never doubt BTS

  • yup all celebrities endorse brands at some point of their career, its just amazing that BTS were given such an important role despite most endorsements usually being just surface-level

  • bts with 4(samsung/cola/lv/mcdonalds)
