Is this racist?
-
-
I would say yes. Old school stereotyping....
-
-
Not necessarily. Maybe the purpose was to show that the app provides a variety of meals to fit the palate and traditions of different ethnicities.
-
I don't know if it's necessarily racist, but it does seem to be leaning into stereotyping, which I guess can raise some eyebrows.
-
For it to be racist, it would have to insinuate that one race is somehow inferior to another race or it would have to mock a race somehow. If it's merely showing that the app caters to different races, cultures, and demographics, it's not necessarily racist. It's just trying to be inclusive, which is good.
-
Are you not being racist by saying a person "looks African or African-American"? I wouldn't say it's necessarily racist. It's not racist to actually show aspects of a culture. It is however, a bit strong on the stereotyping side.
Instead of complaining with just crying you should either shut up and ignore or give a proper solution instead of just crying on social media
So what do you call a black person when its not allowed to name their ethnicity?
-
What?
-
isn't that just people ordering food...
like it's not racist to say chinese people tend to prefer chinese food and indian people tend to prefer indian food etc etc
-
seems more stereotyping than being racist
